May 14 Tablescape Thursday

image

Here we are at another Tablescape Thursday, hosted by Susan at Between Naps On The Porch.

I am always informal. We are having a meal in the dining room just off the garden. Where we can peer out at the construction going on with the deck that will wrap around all six of these doors. Upturned chairs and mounds of dirt and lots of wood and carpenter’s tools. That’s what you see outside my doors at the moment!

Some of you have seen the green pitcher and hand-painted glasses, as I showed them off just after purchasing them from an antique store last weekend. All four glasses were $11. The pitcher was $12. I am certainly not a painter, so I appreciate the work that must have gone into these glasses.

These plates simply say Coventry. I bought them a few years back at Ross. They were quite cheap, and I just found them pretty. I especially like the blue swirling pattern inside of the bowls.

The tablecloth is one I picked up in Abilene, Texas about five years ago. I love the different shades of blue. Can you tell I like blue?

The red plates are from Dillards, and they are our “every day” dinnerware. We have them in both red and navy.

I am quite surprised that I have so much fun putting these simple table settings together. I had no idea I would like it so much. And I’m learning so much from you more experienced bloggers! So I thank Susan for allowing me to participate. Please go to see all the others who have made their masterpieces available for you. (And many of them are truly masterpieces!)

  24. Hey Brenda, I came back over to thank you for the comment! You can’t find the Gibson dishes? They’ve gotta have them…it’s a HUGE 46 piece dinnerware set called “Claremont”…I probably would have never noticed them had they had not been shown in blogland! Go take a second look!;)

Oh! I enjoyed seeing your tablescape so much. I hope you’ll participate again next week!:)

My dishes are NOT Fiestaware. They are cheapies from the grocery store, marked down to $1 after Easter. I sure wish I had picked up a few more and now they are long gone.
