It is Outdoor Wednesday, hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.
Spring in East Texas in mid-May means that tulips and hyacinths have come and gone. The perennials are up. And the nurseries are full of annuals, such as the white petunias above.
It is a time of gathering around an outdoor table. In outdoor “rooms.”
It is a time when you see butterflies and bees and hummingbirds flitting about the plants, doing what nature tells them to do.
When birds build nests and have babies and train them to fly alone.
When bunnies hop into gardens. And sometimes stay there.
When we sit and lose our thoughts staring into gazing balls.
On land and on water…
As goldfish swim in the pond, at their own pace and enroute to their own destination.

Your garden just makes me so happy. I am going to close my eyes and pretend that is where I am all afternoon- instead of chained to my desk!
Gorgeous garden!
I love spring!
Breath taking!
Brenda, I have a mama bird who has built the most intricate nest in the window box on my patio. I can see her come and go from the kitchen. Last year, she laid 4 perfect little blue eggs. Can’t wait to see this time.
i have those yellow flowers at my place too. i can never remember what they are called. they have a rather unique fragrance – very unflowery, i think
Beautiful post, Brenda.
Our little Wren has returned. We didn’t think she was going to get here! She’s building her nest in the “upscale” birdhouse on the back porch, where she had a room, last year. She sits on the hooks by the steps, scolding us, when we have supper on the porch!
Your gardens are gorgeous. It’s so pretty there. It’s been cool here for the past couple of days. Where is SPRING???
What beautiful garden! I can picture myself there sipping on a glass of tea.
Happy Wednesday!
Sandra

Getting ready for major landscaping in the back yard, woohoo! Your white petunias and yellow lantana practically glow! Looks cool beside the water…
Lovely garden. Spring is wonderful isn’t it? We are already into summer here in the tropics!
Oh, this post made me feel so peaceful and happy. What gorgeous surroundings you live in. Wonder what kind of birds like to nest in that unique apartment building? I like white blooms and love lantana…all colors. Your bunny is so cute and your gazing balls are amazing…especially the one in the water. The fish and plants in your pond, all just wonderful. That’s it, I’m moving to TX tomorrow.
What a beautiful garden. I love all the color, and the pond is just beautiful. Thanks for stopping by. Kathy
Of course you’ve a lovely space outside. Where are you at? You get to enjoy it much? I imagine you do.
I love your garden. My goldfish died last year. I was so sad.
We are doing some major cleaning around our house and then maybe I’ll take some photos.
Brenda, I found these two tablescape books at Half Price Books in Bellevue, Wa. You might check your local one, you never know!
Be a sweetie,
