My yard is an utter mess right now. With the construction of the deck came another dilemma. Robert discovered that the drainage pipe that links my garden home to my neighbor’s next door is crushed and clogged. So it must come out and be replaced. All my paths have to be torn up! My yard has part of a deck, and the rest is mud where this will continue all the way out to the alley. Sigh…

Anyway, I will try to find something beyond the ugliness.

Clyde discovers the catmint I planted in a pot for the cats.

I have never had Monarda Bee Balm before. But it is a winner with the butterflies and bees and such. Mine is five feet tall!

  1. Your pictures are all so good! For someone who has a messed up yard, you certainly managed to share some pretty wonderful shots with us. Good job! I just adore Clyde finding the catnip! :-)

    Happy OW…

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  2. It is hard to tell that your yard is messed up from these beautiful pictures! I love the picture of Clyde by the Catmint….

  3. Your yard is wonderful, mess and all. Actually, I can’t even see the mess.

Dang, you found problems that need fixed. If it’s not one thing it’s another.
    Sandra

  4. This looks very serene despite the destruction-
    :)

  5. The photo of Clyde looks like I could reach right into the photo and pet that soft fur. You (with the help of your camera) are the most amazing photographer. One picture better than the next. Wow!

  6. So the poor little messed up yard is giving you issues, huh? Well, toots, if this is messed up, then my back yard has been hit by a tornado and a bulldozer! Your pictures are so clear and detailed… Great job. :-) Sue
p.s. I don’t know what is going on, I am finding that I am not a follower on multiple blogs, although I subscribed. This is the case w/your blog, as well. So I will attempt to follow again and see what happens. :-(

  7. sorry about the drain problems with the neighbor – your area is such a beautiful retreat

  8. I love that shot of the two chairs! Beautiful, peaceful; a good book and iced tea come to mind!

I hope things are back to normal soon.

  15. your pictures look so relaxing.

  16. That sitting area looks cozy, and I love how you nestled the chicken in the plants. Thanks for sharing!

  17. I love all your potted little gardens…, regarding the mess, I feel for you…, we just finished our remodel during which I had been living in a mess, in the house and around.

  18. NICE relaxing spot in the garden… I ADORE Clyde in the garden… I soooo miss having a kitty… le sigh!

  19. Hate to hear that about your plants having to be taken up but maybe something good will come from it somehow. That Monarda Bee Balm is most unusual looking. I like your shady place to land.

    Hugs

  20. Your plants are beautiful, hope the rest of your garden gets back to it’s state of absolute beauty. Amazing how a lens can cut out clutter and the not so beautiful.:-)

  21. Clyde is becoming quite the little model; he’s so distinguished looking. Girl, your hyacinth beans took off, didn’t they? I just planted mine in the WRONG place, gotta try again.

  22. Hi Brenda, hope you get the drainage probs sorted out very soon, I love monarda, I must try to grow some here, also love your seating, I am looking for something just like them.I didnt see my future but I did see that you will soon have the most gorgeous retreat right outside your back door :-) , happy Wednesday, Kathy.

  23. Looks like you have a very nice place to relax, and before you know all the work is done.

  24. I’d take the semi-shade and dip in and out of the light. Beautiful place you have.

  25. Your pictures are fabulous. I have a cat that appears to be a clone of yours.

  26. A really great set of pictures! Beautiful flowers and a lovely cat. My favourite is your pet alligator :)

  27. I just planted some bee balm this year Mine is only about 8 inches tall right now and has no buds yet. I don’t know if it’ll bloom or not this year!

but if it gets five feet tall, well, I may have put it in the wrong place! oh well, I guess that’s what makes the garden ramble.
