Diane’s back and we’re on our regular schedule of 2nd Time Around Tuesday, hosted at A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words. This is where we show off our second hand treasures. They’re the best though, aren’t they?
When we were remodeling the house this year, some folding doors got taken off my kitchen doorways. Now they are table tops for my craft cubes! Here’s one. I decoupaged them with vintage-themed scrapbook papers.
Here’s a better view. Sorry about the lamp shining on it, but it’s evening and I don’t get much light in here.
These are on either side of my couch in the garden room. Here’s the other side.
Next time you get ready to throw out plywood doors, think again!
Of course once I finished this, I wanted the coffee table to look the same. So I put plywood over the good table (which belonged in my husband’s office once, and he might want it back some day!), tacking down tiny nails in each corner. Then I decoupaged it also.
I made some mistakes with measuring the papers, despite my quilting background! So I had to fudge and add these paper scrapbook rulers on the edges so my mistakes wouldn’t show! I rather liked it after I got it glued down.
And here’s a few more treasures. I bought this at the antique mall. I didn’t know exactly what it was for, but I use it for magazines.
And this was nearby. Must have been from the same vendor, though I don’t recall. I’ve been using it in the kitchen for plates.
And from the same antique mall, something else for my kitchen…
How could anyone give these things up? I love them!
Now let’s go on over and see what other treasures are being linked from Diane’s blog. Thanks Diane for hosting this fun event!

Fun treasures, Brenda!
XO,
Sheila
I just love the way you used the beautiful scrapbook paper! Excellent idea.
Oh I love how you used all the rulers too! I’m actually in awe of your craft cubbies!!! You have it all right there but it so neat and looks like display!! As I’ve said before I could just move right in!! Love it!
Hugs, Lisa
Goodness you found some neat things. I especially love that magazine holder.
Thanks for sharing.
You didn’t mess up, you had a flash of inspiration! I love the added touch and might steal your door idea….hmmm..we don’t really need that door into the study, do we?
I was admiring that table just yesterday. Such a clever gal, I swear.
I am crazy about those door tops…you did an excellent job on them and they look amazing.
Now, I have a spot for a small table and i would love to do this. I might be emailing you for instructions as I’ve never done this before. I really love the look!!

Great idea with the door tops. They look so pretty with the scrapbooking paper.
How clever you are! Love your craft cubbies and coffee table. The mistake that led to the use of the paper yardsticks turned out sooo great! Your other finds are fabulous too! And your displays on the shelf in the kitchen are wonderful. laurie
Great idea I love it! I am going to try that on the messed up top of my little cabinet. And great finds
All the best,
Allison
That is really giving something a 2d change around and I just love it. I’d never known you miss cut if you hadn’t said so. Also love all of you little flea market finds.
Molly
FAB second time arounds!
The decoupaged tops are great, love that idea for a coffee table…, I can imagine using pictures of old navigation maps, or perhaps vintage beach scenes.
Great ideas about the doors, and you did a nice job on it all.
love all the white!!
Blessings,
Barbara Jean
I love them all. I think the table looks better with the rulers than it would without. Very creative!
I love how these table tops turned out, Brenda. I also like how you used the yardstick paper idea! Perfect!!
I have a piece of glass, with one chipped corner. Used to be on J’s trout table in his “room”. When we replaced it with a good piece of glass, we stored the chipped piece away. I’m thinking about having it cut to fit my “new” black desk. While I don’t want to glue anything to the top, I’m considering putting something under the glass, like we have the postcards, on the table downstairs.
good morning, brenda! your tabletops are AMAZING!!! very inspiring!
you leave the most wonderful comment for me. thank you so much. (i think i have a little can of red spray paint …)

I just love your ability to think outside the box! You come up with the most artistic and interesting makeovers.
♥, Susan
I never would have thought of this. You did a fab job! Happy 2nd Time Around.
Great job! Very clever! I love the look of it, no one would think it started out as a door. (for both) have a fun 4th.
I am sorry I missed you yesterday, but wow wow wow, you did a fabulous job on that bathroom. Today is a treat as well. I love the door transformation. You sure are a busy girl. You must have the use of both feet now, right?
I love your tables!!! I love the rulers in between the papers on your coffee table. I think it looks fabulous. Good thing you made a measuring boo boo. You are so creative. I need to hang around you more to see if some of that creativity will rub off on me. I can only copy, not come up with new stuff.
And I love your antique store finds.
That coffee table is a work of art! I like the new header, too!
I’m calmer now, but still angry with the incompetance of Home Depot; maybe I’m just too much of a perfectionist!
Awesome! I like it alot with the ruler paper, too!
How absolutely fabulous and smart and thrifty. I love them!
Love your photos and finds. The table redo is fab. Glad you had to come up with the measuring tapes, they make it all pop.
Great job all around,
Candy
Hi Brenda,
You did a splendid job! Seriously!! And love all your whites too. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Sandi
Oh my goodness! So much cuteness! Wonderful ideas. Love your blog!

How wonderfully creative you are. A breath of fresh air. I have an actual full size door that i’m trying to figure out what to do with. 36″. I have not decided yet but it will come to me i’m sure. I love how you used yours. Well done.
The use of the yard sticks…..brilliant!
♥xoxo♥
I love how pretty your craft storage area is! It’s easier to start on a project if your supplies are handy. I went to a flea market with a friend (Kay from The Wrought Iron Gate) She found several old salt shakers and plans to repurpose them for holding glitter. They’ll be so pretty and easy to grab for a splash of bling!
You are truly talented and creative! I am so lovin’ your amazing crafting cubbies and table!
The use of the yardsticks/rulers is so much fun and adds the perfect bit of whimsy!
Love,
sue
I really like the vintage scrapbooking papers. Wondering what all that writing was about. Love the social history of old letters.
Brenda, I love what you did with the scrapbook paper! Your project is an inspiration to me! LOVE It!
Thanks for linking to 2nd Time Around!
