Outdoor Wednesday June 24

It’s Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer.

Here are some photos from my yard.

Spider webs thoroughly fascinate me. I love the intricacy involved in the multiple layers. Those spiders are pretty good engineers! Walking about the yard, you have to look closely or you might miss these gossamer-like creations.

Hen and Chicks are a favorite of mine in this hot Texas weather. Their red tips look like they were dipped in ink.

A geranium getting ready to bloom. Full of delicious promise.

A family of bluebirds nest in my yard each year. They always go to the corner house on the fence.

Water lilies bobbing atop the water.

Spots to sit alongside the pond. A good place to sit and listen to the birds sing.

lovely pics as usual, love the spiders web one, we have huge webs here, had never seen anything like it before moving to Aus, sometimes we have one which runs right across the whole width of the property in the back yard, which we mow down with a stick in the morning, how sad all that hard work gone in a second

  29. Hi Brenda. Your pictures are all fantastic. Love the hens & chicks. Two days ago I spent the day watching my baby finches learning to fly. It took all day with them going back and forth to the nest. About mid afternoon they took a nap…just like me. By evening, they were gone.

  30. This is awesome , the spider web really great. Nice to sit down and listen to birds singing while sipping coffee. Fantastic shots.

  37. Some of those pictures are breathtaking. The lily pads, the spider webs! Wow.

I saw two spider webs last week on a bridge I walk to. The wind was blowing them swollen like bellies. They looked like parachutes!

  38. Super great pics!! I always enjoy visiting!!
    Hugs, Lisa

  39. What a great garden you have and great pond. I too like to see spider webs, but not always the spider :) That bluebird picture is amazing. I wish I could get a picture of the one here.
    Thanks for sharing!

  40. Beautiful photos Brenda. You captured some amazing photos while hobbling around. I know what you mean about heat stroke. If I don’t get out in the garden early,it’s not happening. I love your gazing ball and the aloe..

  41. Happy Belated Outdoor Wednesday
It takes me a while to get around to every one because the blogs are so beautiful.
I love the hens and chickens.
My mil received poison ivy on her face when she walked through the spider web of a spider that crawled through poison ivy…that is what her dr. said, because it was all over her face…just slightly on her hands.
I love to take pictures of spider webs but I do not like spiders….just charlotte’s web.
I love the picture of your garden with all the textures
    hugs
    debbie
