Show Off Your Cottage 2/22

IMG_2138

Just the word “cottage” evokes a feeling of home. A cozy sanctuary.

I’m participating in Cielo’s Show Off Your Cottage Monday at The House In The Roses blog.

Quilts to me are like valentines. They say someone loves you. And if you’ve never stitched a quilt, you might not know exactly what I mean. Lots of love goes into all those stitches! So what says cozy better in your cottage than lots of multi-colored quilts?

IMG_2122

How about a cat on a quilt? The cottage cat.

IMG_2135

And dishes on display. Especially ones with pretty blue roses.

IMG_2399

And often-used items in your cozy cottage kitchen.

IMG_2414

Oh, and fabric! Who doesn’t like the color and texture of 100% cotton fabric? With some old spools thrown in for good measure.

IMG_1043

Then there’s the birdhouse. Don’t you think every cottage needs a birdhouse?

IMG_1917

I’m perfectly dotty for polka dots on most anything. What about a polka-dotted cottage? Now that’s one I haven’t seen yet!

IMG_6536

And the cottage garden. A must-have is wicker and flowers.

IMG_9337

And at the end of the day, what better way to celebrate cottage coziness than to settle down at a candlelit table whilst gazing at your favorite books? With the scent of coffee beans and French vanilla in old jars and teacups to signal the days end.

Quite the little HOBBIT house of color and joy. Love the heart pillow. Not sure mine sunroom or mountain bedroom have the cottage feel, more of a mountain chalet, but I'll head over to check out.

Happy Sunday

Brenda, The bits and pieces that make up your "cottage" always make me smile. I used to think it was the colorful way that you put things together, but I have come to realize it is the love in the little details that make it so special.

Maybe we'll meet up at Trade Days sometime. Next time I go I'm going to write to you & ask for some good places to shop around Tyler. Thanks for your nice comments. Lisa
