When I’m not out in the garden, the room I truly feel most comfortable in is this one. You’ve seen it a multitude of times.
My favorite things are in this room. It is my place to unwind, check in with my bloggy friends, and create (when I get off the computer long enough to do so.)
You would think I might want more tranquil colors in here. But no. I’m most soothed by my bright patches of color everywhere. My one nod to a serene backdrop was to paint the walls blue.
Right behind my reading chair is a coffee bar. Yes, the white shelf is gone, in use outside on my potting table. So this brown one that needs some updating (still pondering that one) came in from the garage and got the cobwebs cleaned off. And put into service. The Splenda and Equal packets are in the two drawers.
At the back there is the kitchen, then the garden room (as I like to call it), which opens right up to the bedroom. Very convenient, as these are the rooms I really live in.
Everything in here is washable and casual and comfortable. And this is where I sit and visit all of you. Right here in my little bloggy corner. It’s a bit dark with only a couple of small skylights and no windows. My dark little dungeon. But still, I love this space. And I’m so thankful I have it.
Where is your favorite space to spend time?
I’m linking up to Wednesday Gratitude At Heart & Home.

Very cute…….I love it, wish I lived by you so I could stop over for some of that coffee…………I like the colors to. XO MARY
Love it. It is so alive with color. Great room to hang out in.

I truly enjoyed seeing your favorite space – But I got to tell ya that I noticed some fabulous pin cushions – truly wonderful !!!!

PS Thank you for your input on my last post. I really appreciate it.
I just noticed we have the same red outdoor rug from Ballards. Cool! It looks great in your room.
Hi Brenda, you know I love your garden room. I especially liked seeing how high the ceiling is and that shelf way up high. It is also nice to know where you’re sitting when you blog.

“Aunt Amelia” was here.
Which means I read and enjoyed and want to write a big Comment. But I can’t stay on line, long enough to do so. -Bleahhh-
So I’m leaving this weird comment all over Pretty Blog Land.
Oh and it’s HOT here, too!!! -Bleahhhh-
I never tire of seeing your garden room. It’s such a wonderful space full of colour and personality.
I have a tiny (6 1/2 x 13) space to call my own and yes I wish it was bigger but I’m glad I have it.
My hubs calls it the “chick den”.
I love your cozy corner too. We both love all of the same things, red, blue and white china, quilts, our pets and gardening. Oh, and let’s not forget about blogging and our blogging buddies. Especially ones like you!!!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

So warm and cozy, Brenda. I wish I could sit on that sofa with you on the sofa and have some coffee in one of those red cups
Robin
Your room seems to wrap it’s arms around you ~ like a big hug ~ so warm, cozy and comforting. No wonder it’s your favorite.
I loved visiting your cozy, colorful space, Brenda. I could be very comfortable there, too, because I love color.
I have different spaces I love, but I generally tend to like to be in lots of light. I crave it. In St. Augustine back when I had computer access there, I would get cozy in the DR because it’s the most comfortable spot for my computer, but then moved to the upstairs study which has a blue and light blue harlequin check table with yellow legs and pops of green. I think you’d like it very much. There is light that streams through the windows. All I need now is computer access from there, and I’m good to go!
When I’m home, I tend to work best from the DR table because it’s comfortable, and I can spread out. I also work in a study that is yet to be completed.
XO,
Sheila
I do love your favorite room. Full of color just like I like, too. I don’t know how people exist in all white spaces. Thanks for sharing your special place with us.
I love your special room and the beautiful blue color with the splashes of red! My favorite room to spend time in is our lanai! It’s a little warmer than the rest of the house and feels comfortable stretching out on the sofa. Enjoy your day, sweet friend! ♥
I love the “smiling” suitcases in the 3rd picture from the top! Your room is always so cozy & inviting looking. Love all the red (my favorite color).
Hi Brenda,

I love your space I envy your choices of colors too, I am not that exuberant or colorful but I would love a few spots of color everywhere.Everytime I talk about repainting the living room everyone holds their breath…. I want one wall in terracotta orange…. and the other walls in warm yellow. Is that so much to ask???
Do you wonder Brenda how it will feel in your home after your own family will have been there for a visit?? Will it feel different ?
I hope it feels even warmer to you and welcome sweet welcome to them.
I am soo happy for you to have found some family,I pray you can find everyone else !!

I adore the fact that you have a little coffee bar in your house. It’s wonderful. I don’t like coffee but still…I might need a little “treat bar” in my office now. Super cute.
Your room is so cozy with all that beautiful color. I love your coffee bar with all those great cups.Pour me a cup will ya….Kathy
I love the high shelve it looks like such a fun place to put things.
Red is such a wonderful color and makes me feel warm and cozy!
I think my favourite place to spend time would be your living room! It is so cozy and welcoming!
Your little coffee corner shelf… I think it look great painted in a bright colour and stenciled flowers… like a canal barge – do you have them over there like we do in the UK? I love them and I totally want to live on one one day!
Question for you, how do you hang your quilts? It looks like you’ve got it on some kind of rail. I really want to make one for my bedroom wall but wasn’t sure how best to hang it! Thanks!
Kat x
Such a wonderful room Brenda! With the coffee bar, you are set.
WANT THE CUPS!!!!!!!
I never thought to put the coffee maker next to my favorite spot? I’ll have to do that! Thanks!
I can never get tired of looking at your cozy house. I love those ceilings. The red touches and the quilts. Your nook is just right. I think the living room is the warmest I have ever seen. LOVELY

You MUST get up from the computer sometime–everything is neat as a pin! I normally like rooms drenched in sunlight, but I love your little office–it is so cozy. Although my kitchen is nothing special, I guess I am happiest in there.
What a lovely, cozy place.
I love your favorite space and the quilts and things you’ve collected are just beautiful. And a coffee bar…the ultimate luxury. Don’t know if I could fit one in my favorite space…my craftroom.
Thank you for capturing in word and picture your favorite space & all its fine features. It truly is a warm and welcoming place. I’d have trouble leaving it to go ANYWHERE!
It’s so relaxing to see your garden room again; I can see us sitting there sipping coffee. Your use of lamps makes it warm and inviting.
It really couldn’t be more perfect; I love it all, Brenda. I can see why you cherish it so much.
I love all the color ~ especially the red! The coffee bar is wonderful ~ wish I lived closer. I took a quilting class eons ago and I often think of trying again. Your cozy house is adorable!

No wonder… the colour is fabulous xx
I love all the little details of this room, Brenda! My fave room is the kitchen, even if I don’t cook. I love it because I think it’s the hearth of the house!
Hugs!
Mara
This too is my favorite spot on your blog. I still remember the first time I came to your blog and seen these pics. I gasped in such joy. I find the colours very soothing. They say the tranquil blue does it, but your colours are what makes me just sigh with joy and contentment. I adore this room so much and when I’m busy tweaking around my home, I try to use many of ideas that I have found here…
I have a few favorites. One that I’ve been using a lot lately is my north facing dormer that is just big enough for my table, chair and little weaving loom. I would post pics, but it is a big mess right now, from all the weaving I’ve been doing.
What a cozy wonderful space! I would love spending time there too since I LOVE red and all those bright happy colors!
I guess the place I spend most of my time would be the study, since that’s where I paint and also blog (but it’s not nearly as colorful as yours).
Have a great holiday weekend!
Hugs,
Donna
Brenda, some people have a gift. You are one of them. Just a lovely, cozy, inviting room. I would LOVE to sit and have tea and chat with you in there. What a comfort a room of one’s own is.

Brenda I love, love, love your home. What a cheerful and beautiful room! About 5 years ago this is just what my livingroom looked like. A lot of reds and bright color…I’ve gone with a much more subdued color scheme for now, but I know that the bright colors will creep back here one day.
hugs
