  5. Nice coffee bar, you did say you like a big mug of coffee! I love the bowls in the background. Very pretty.

We just returned to Arizona after 2 weeks in cool Colorado, well you can imagine how miserable we are now. Your country drive reminded me of Colorado and the lush beauty of the land.

    Thanks for sharing.

  6. I know what you mean about “The Notebook”. It really is a great movie. I am so excited that you stopped by because I adore your blog. I currently have a backyard that would make you faint it is so bland, and you have already given me plenty of ideas. I am also loving your seashell in the pot look, and the table top fountain. If only you could see me bouncing in my seat….

  7. You Sunday sounds lovely! We worked in the garden this morning after a breakfast of bacon and eggs. This afternoon, I am catching up on some blogs and some reading.
    Hugs,
    Penny

  8. Your day and plans sound very pleasant.

My day? Coffee first, of course….then Sunday school and church, a little nap, continuing the reading of The 3,000 Mile Garden (a book title I gleaned from SOMEone’s gardening blog), and now a trek to watch a young acquaintance play in his little league all-star baseball game. Hopefully we’ll top that off with some ice cream!

  9. What a lovely back yard you have. I could spend all day there. The decorations on the fence make it so inviting and all of the beautiful colors. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Well, for one thing, I like mosey-ing around and catching up on blogs, especially when I’ve had a super busy week like this one! {Loved your table top fountain post, BTW!} I am seriously considering heading to the nearest chair with my current fiction book, as well. It just rained and now the sun is out. One of those days! Love your little coffee bar ~
what a great idea. xx Suzanne

  11. I wish I had a day like that today. I have been working at my daughter’s all weekend. Love your photos.

  12. breakfast with friends and a bit of shopping

  13. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sunday. Your coffeee bar is great. I also like your candle nestled in the coffee beans. Bet it smells wonderful too.

  14. Coffee every morning for me – today I had oatmeal with raisins. Then work out in the garden – pruning, cleaning up the beds, cutting down a sapling that was trying to steal water from the willow. Then some popcorn with Don while watching the very end of the World Cup (about all I can tolerate) and now I’m tired.

  15. Love your coffee corner and what a great deck you have–wonderful photos! Jacqueline

  16. LOOOOOVE all the color in your pics!! What a great Sunday!

  17. Your Sunday sounds lovely! I always start my days with many MANY cups of coffee, usually out in the porch. Read the sunday paper out there.

Well today we spent a good part of the day wandering around IKEA – had some tasty swedish meatballs for lunch there. Now we’re (actually my husband and daughter) are putting together the tables we bought and I’m catching up on blogs while they work LOL! Later we’ll watch a movie and then I want to go to bed early because IKEA tired me out!

  18. Sounds like the perfect Sunday!

Mr. Magpie and I are in St. Augustine today, and we woke up and went to breakfast at La Pentola. Had delicious omelettes with artichokes, cheese, and anchovies. Delicious! And then we came home and I worked on my last Stella post, and he read. We did some things around the house, and then it stormed. Now it is beautiful. I also got some cute pictures of a squirrel, both today and yesterday who was NAPPING in a tree. And Mr. Magpie got some of a flock of geese in a parking lot. Just a lazy nice day. He had been in a trial all week, so it was nice to see him unwind.

Glad your day was a sweet one, too, and I love that road you showed us, Brenda. Lovely! And those cute, cute Yorkies!!!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  19. Your morning sounds wonderful and much like mine. I had to smile when I saw your coffee cups all arranged so no two mugs of the same color are beside each other. I would so do the same thing! lol. Hope everything is going well for you.

    hugs
    Kathy

  20. My sons come home for dinner on Sundays so that’s the focus of my day! Your yard is lovely, and I really love your green glass on the table-enjoy!

  21. That sounds like a wonderful day! I love all your red accents. :)

    Donna

  22. I went shopping with my daughter today( she made me buy a bathing suit… yikes) she is here for a week, she leaves Friday… its never enough time… gosh I miss her company.
While she is here I make every day count….MIL has settled down some, I still owe you a long email ,I haven’t forgotten.

  23. Hi Brenda,
Sunday is a day to catch up with a lot of my friends in blogland and calling my mother, and then my sisters, and then my children. I love a good Sunday drive as well, but since I live in the country, we usually head to the mountains whick are just out the back door about 15 miles away.
I am like you, in that I love to go out to the garden first thing and see what’s new.

I don’t know if Ashes is a coon cat…I really don’t know about kitties much, he’s my first one in years, and he found us. He just showed up one day at my daughter’s house. We are so glad he did.
    hugs

  24. Sounds like a day of peace and rejuvenation. Love the fountain idea too. Mimi

  25. What a beautiful way to spend a day…..

  27. Your Sunday sounds perfect! Love the pictures and your puppies are too cute! I drove 2 hours with Mr. Tide to go get grass fed beef today!

    Kat :)

  28. Sounds like a perfect day…That is exactly the way I like to start my day and end my day, too. Lezlee

  31. Love your green glass and vintage linens. Best of all I love seeing your dogs saying hello to each other. So very cute.

  32. Aaaahhhh…. What a relaxing, wonderful day you had…
I have to drink morning coffee- not because I need it- but because I just enjoy it. I use Kroger’s brand of Creme Brulee flavored creamer and savor my cup while reading the morning paper. No better way to start the day, whether I’m off to work or just lazing around the house. Now… if I only had your backyard to do it in, I would be much happier. I envy that outdoor space, let me tell ya! It looks so wonderful, Brenda.
    hugs, Sue

  33. I love your use of the color red!.. and funny, I blogged about a “normal” day last night… and boy do I need my cup of coffee right now…

  34. Beautful photos, Brenda!

  39. It sounds like a wonderful summer Sunday morning to me! Love your kitchen!

  40. My hubby and I actually had a conversation about how we can make the day more special….you’ve got the right idea! Thanks! ♥

  41. Brenda-What wonderful colors and images! It sounds like a good day to me! Some days the very simplest ones are the best..even the dogs know it :) Love your new fountain you made. It looks great and I agree with you about the sound!

  42. I hurt my back out in the yard on Saturday so most of Sunday was spent on the couch resting and watching Harry Potter!

  45. My sweet friend Brenda… please remind me how to get the header centered in the blog. I know you posted on this a while back. Also, what software do you use to get those adorable cute curved edges on you pictures, if you don’t mind asking. I just went XL on mine too. Sure hope it doesn’t cause people to have problems loading being that big. Your’s doesn’t for me, so I’m thinking now.
