Update: New Stat Page In Blogger

monday 002
There are several newsworthy items in Blogger. First, you can now go straight to Design, as you see above, to get to your Gadgets. After they added the new Designer Templates, you had to go in the back door for awhile, by going through New Post. But I noticed this weekend that that had changed. So much simpler!

I’m having a lot of fun with Blogger right now. I enjoy the new design templates and the versatility they’ve given us. And now the functionality of having our statistics right there on our blogger format. And free is good too!

Note: I noticed with this post that Preview is no longer at the top of the page. It’s now at the bottom next to Publish Post, Save Now, and then you will see Preview. And when you Preview, there will be a Preview line across the top left of your page to let you know you’re in Preview mode. So I guess there’s lots of things going on over at Blogger.

Update note: Many of you commented that you don’t have Stats on your blog. Someone thankfully commented that you need to go to Dashboard. Scroll to the bottom and find Blogger in Draft. Click to make it your default Dashboard. Then you should have the Stats tab. Let me know if this does not work.

Comments

  1. I’ve been playing this morning! I canNOT figure how to get rid of the underline in my post titles (and how to change their color). I DID get them centered….Any ideas? I googled it, but what was suggested didn’t seem to work for me.)

  2. Hi Brenda! I noticed this the other day but didn’t check the Stats out…thanks for showing us this as I was just going to keep what I was already using. This new Stats thing is supposed to help with load time if you get rid of ‘outside’ stats…that would be nice. I’m going to have to check this out right now. Have a wonderful Monday….Maura :)

  3. Cool Stuff. I don’t pay much attention to the new tabs! I guess I should.
    Blessings,
    Lorilee

  4. Thanks for sharing, I had no idea about the stats. I can’t get enough of this blogging. I’m addicted.

  5. Brenda, you are so helpful. Thank you for these tips! I didn’t see the stats, I must check that out. You make things so easy!

    Thanks!
    Hugs,
    Donna

  6. Brenda, I have had the design thing for a few weeks, but do not have the stats thing on mine. I just checked. Maybe different people get updated at different times. Thanks for the info though.

  7. Thanks, I think I remember a notice about it, but didn’t really pay attention. However, when I looked for it today, I didn’t have a stats tab.

After searching through the help files, I found that if you don’t have the tab like you have pictured, go to Dashboard, scroll to the bottom and find Blogger in Draft. Click to make it your default dashboard and then you’ll have the stats tab.

And you are right, it seems to have all the things the outside services do, and I don’t even have to remember another password. Cool!

  8. Brenda! What fun. I have been resisting the new templates but I have started to play with them. I will keep tweeking until I have what I want. I can’t seem to add the sharing icons at the end bu I will keep trying.

Thanks for your kind words of encouragement.

    Carol

  9. Hi Brenda, I just checked and I don’t have stats yet. Is it something you had to download? I always get such a kick out of seeing all the different countries my visitors are from, I am really looking forward to getting this feature:>)

  10. Hi Brenda!

Without you I’d never notice these things! I don’t have the stats tab yet either.

    Manuela

  11. Hi Brenda! Thanks for all of this info, but I don’t have the Stats thingy on my blog. I’ve looked and checked. Maybe because I’ve never used anything in the new design stuff, I don’t know! Anyway, it looks cool.
    Be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  12. Thanks Brenda! I’ll go check this out.

  13. It’s been a while since my last visit and I love your new blogpage. I also love the new gadgets and I like to try them out. I can’t find the facts item though. Sure looks easy and handy to use! Groeten, Corry

  14. Brenda, I began reading your post,
    checked my blog
    nope didn’t have them
Read Marti’s comment telling how she got her’s
    and now
    I’ve got my Stats

    Hugs & ♥♥♥s,
    Gerry

  15. Brenda, I am so scared I’m going to touch a button and have the thing just deconstruct on me! I haven’t converted to any new system. Can I still see this on my blogger dashboard? I usually just blog without knowing who is online or visiting or anything. But this does sound intriguing. But you know me, I am terrified of technology.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  16. How neat!
I am going to go check that right now.. thanks !!
    Diane

  17. Brenda………

    Thanks for the class, teacher.

Garden & Be Well, XO Tara

  18. Wow! Many thanks, Brenda, I had no idea it was available. I clicked on Blogger in Draft, at bottom of Dashbord, and the Stats tab showed up. Too cool! Thanks again!!!

  19. How fun. I didn’t have the tab either, followed Marti’s instructions and have been browsing through. Appreciate the heads up – going back over there to waste time.

  25. Did yours just do this? I don’t have the changes and cannot find a way to update :(
    Hugs, Lisa

  26. Yes! I love the new features but as for stats….no one is visiting my blog so there is no need to look at them! LOL! Love your pics on the right side too!

  27. Nope not yet. Does it have anything to do with signing up for AdSense. or is a gadget to add? I’ll keep checking.

Now, if they could just get a spell checker. How wise would that be?

    much from you,
    and continue to

    so much to us both.

  30. Hi Brenda! You’re so smart! I did what you said and now I do have the stats thingy! Woo hoo! But it said I had to come back and check it. I couldn’t wait as soon as I got it on my blog! :)
    You rock, girlfriend! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  31. How cool is that! I did not know you could check your stats, tfs Nan

  32. Thanks for sharing the info. Stats has not been added to mine either – maybe it will show up later.

  35. Thank you for the stats info! Have been playing around with quite a few other new items, especially checking out the gadget pages. Appreciate the help!

PS Not sure if you saw my new blog? Everything Coastal, and now Everything Coastal Style

  36. Perfect… Thanks for the update. I’m off and running. You are the best.

    T.G.B.

  37. That sounds really cool. I get frustrated with Blogger sometimes, but I keep reminding myself it IS free. Glad to hear they are trying to improve :) Thanks for the help!

  38. Brenda, I didn’t know anything about the stats feature. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the info. laurie

  39. Brenda can you help me? I have no stats thingy. Do I have to do something to make it work? It looks cool and I would love to see it.

    Thanks, ~Melissa :)

  40. thanks for the info…this looks like fun!

  41. As soon as my own computer is fixed I’m going to have to play with this!

    Thanks for all the info!

  42. Are there different versions, because stats is not available to me.
Any idea how to make my post title BIGGER? It is so small when I publish my posts in large text.

I wanna play! But you have a totally different design layout for you.
    I thought I had the most updated version . . .
    hmmmmm.
    Karen

  43. Way cool Brenda!!! You are my blogging guru!!

    Love,
    Susan and Bentley
    xxoo

  44. Wow…thanks my friend…so lucky to have you…off to give it a look. oxoxo

  45. Well, I don’t have a “stats” button and now I want one! Did it just appear or did you change something to get it? It’s very cool! Love your blog btw! I love red and paint everything red that I can too. I have red dishes with white dots that I forced my daughter to make me (she’s an artist and a potter), made myself a red with white dots ironing board cover, lamp shades (Gina has a great tutorial for those), and of course a quilt. Well, back to working on my blog. Thanks for showing that–I sure wish I knew how you got it…
