We have abundant sunshine, hot temperatures, and not much else going on around these parts.
Let’s stroll through the gardens and see what’s what, shall we?
For those of you who are new to this place, I call these the corner fairy gardens.
Clyde’s favorite scratch tree. We couldn’t figure out what was making the horrid marks on our crepe myrtle trees. Yep, it’s Clyde sharpening his claws.
This is Miss Abi. She thinks she runs things, by the way. Simply a delusion.
Mister Charlie Ross. The essence of pure sweetness and honey.
The pavilion we had built this year. It’s pretty hot to enjoy it right now. But when it’s a bit cooler, it’s the perfect place for company or a good book.
The view from the very back of the yard. Obviously it isn’t a big yard. But pretty good sized for a garden home yard.
I loved this contrast. Of course potato vines look good with most anything. The perfect backdrop.
The ginormous waterfall recently built for our little pond. Ten thousand pounds of stone.
I had almost nothing blooming out here yesterday. But these two waterlilies today made up for it. I hope you enjoyed your tour of the yard.

Your potatoe vine is beautiful.
One of my favorite spots to visit! I was thinking about your earlier post wishing for a bouquet. I’ve been putting crepe myrtles blossoms in a jar. They are so pretty and just about the only thing left blooming.
Hi Brenda, I always enjoy strolling though your garden!
Hi Brenda!
What a beautiful back yard you have. I remember seeing your yard last fall when I first discovered what blogs were. What a wonderful place to spend time in spring and fall. I think I’d even sit out there in the heat of the summer in a sweat just to enjoy the view and sound of the water fall! Thanks for showing us….have a wonderful Saturday…Maura
I enjoyed my walk through your yard! And the blossoms are beautiful! Enjoy your weekend! ♥
Lovely! Mine is finally getting there! Hubby has been working hard for weeks – we managed to sit outside tonight for the first time in 4 years!
What a lovely walk through your beautiful yard! Thanks for sharing!
Have a great weekend!
Nancy
Lovely oasis! I’d love to sit a spell and sip some iced tea with you.
Best,
Bonnie
Your water lilies are beautiful. I’ll bet you are glad that the kitty scratches the tree and not the sofa
-Rene
Looks like the babies enjoy your little paradise as much as you
That kitty is beautiful!!! I have said it before, but Brenda, your yard and patio area is wonderful!
I am new to your blog. I have to say your garden is beautiful! Love the kitty and puppy to…I am sure she DOES run the place…at least if she is like mine..lol
Brenda, your garden looks beautiful! From your pictures you’d never know just how hot it is. My sister is spending her 1st summer in Fort Worth and she said the heat is so bad. It’s not like she’s not used to heat, she grew up here in N.E. Florida and lived in Atlanta for over 30 years before moving there. I am so ready for fall myself, I’m over this heat. Love you patio area.
Hugs…Tracy
Clyde has really done a number on his scratch trees.
Beautiful waterlilies! My garden blooms are slowing down now, too!
Such a wonderful backyard and I love the color of your lilies. Mine are almost completely dead now from the stuff we put in the pond to kill the duckweed and algae.
I just love your gardens, patio, and water feature. Such beautiful photos ~ makes me want to go out and take some pictures. I like the idea of putting the solar light in the planter! I may try it ~ the ones I have in the ground keep getting shaded by growing plants.
cute animals, beautiful garden… what more can ya ask for…I just snapped a pic. of a red dragonfly today out on my tamato pole…not as good as your close up …love it. Have a great weekend! Mica
your waterlilies are so beautiful
Wonderful …… i love your waterfall and the stones .
BTW ….i am growing indian sweet potatoes in my garden too and the leaves are very different , it’s interesting to see different varieties.
gosh! I think I could sit and look at your beautiful yard all day!!!
Beautiful water lilies, Brenda.
Our cat scratches on an antique herb drying ladder in our kitchen! Better that than the upholstery, which she has never touched! She seems to like raw wood. Once before it was an old birch log we had standing in a corner. Again, good choice! She scratches on the 2×4 post legs of my hubby’s workbench too! Good girl! Furniture safe!
Every time I see a picture of Clyde I think, what a beauty!
Hugs, Diane
I love your garden Brenda.
I have potato vines in my potted plants on the porch and love their bold colors. I love seeing all your babies out and about in the garden. And the water lilies…gorgeous. Have a great day.
Is the signature new?

Brenda,
Your yard is beautiful. What a lovely place to spend time.
You know, on my bucket list, seeing a red dragonfly in real life. Simply wonderful, they are amazing.
Oh, now I am going to have to go back and see if it was for real. LOL.

Good morning, Brenda!
It has been too, too long since I’ve popped by for a visit! I’ve been spending a lot (most of) my time outdoors enjoying this glorious Colorado summer.
I love your garden, and am completely smitten with your fairy garden ideas. I made a small fairy chair from twigs and am keeping my eyes open for more tiny things to create a fairy garden. Perhaps I can share a pic next year when my foundation garden is more established. It’s getting there, but at 10,000 feet about sea level and bunnies munching the blooms off, “patience” is the key word!
Wishing you a lovely Sunday,
Zuzu
Your yard is is so pretty and the perfect spot to just sit and enjoy! Love your colored bottles.
Love potatoe vines too.
Hugs,
Donna
Wow Brenda!! What a beautiful backyard you have!! I LOVE all the different sitting areas and that lovely pond… gorgeous!
I also wanted to let you know that I have an award for you at my blog.
Have a wonderful day!

Beautiful!!
I gathered roses yesterday for 2 vases…they are getting stressed from the heat, tho..My lawn isn’t nearly as green as it was 2 weeks ago..WE NEED RAIN…
Your back yard is so pretty. You don’t have grass? Just prettiness!!
Wonderful.
Your waterlily photos are fabulous!! What a color and the light just fills them up until they glow. Thank you for the beautiful tour!
wonderful pavilion it feels so good just looking at it.
Brenda, I never tire of seeing your garden. It is so pretty and inviting. Even without flowers right now, there are so many pretty colors. Loved seeing your fur babies too. One of my kitties has been clawing my favorite wicker chair inside. Maybe I should move a tree in for him!
