Introducing Cozy Little Shoppes

Today I’m introducing a new feature of Cozy Little House. It is called Cozy Little Shoppes.

What is it?
It is a place to promote your business such as your Etsy shop. Or even your blog.

I have always wanted to promote cottage industries. They remind me of myself back in the 1990s, when I plied my handmade goods in my car from small town to small town in the Texas Hill Country.

Now, with the internet, we can have virtual small towns. And not spend a dime on gasoline!

Cozy Little Shoppes will be a permanent feature on my sidebar. Your 125 x 125 pixel “storefront” will be open 24 hours a day. It will click straight through to your blog, website or Etsy shop.

On The Cozy Little Shoppes Page, there will be short bios and a description of your business. Or if it’s for a blog, just some information about you.

How will it promote my business?

Aside from always being present on my sidebar, I will be promoting Cozy Little Shoppes in various venues. The first will be the Flea Market Style blog which is part of the Flea Market Style publication we all know and love.

I will explore other avenues of advertising. As more shops are added to the group, I will be able to advertise on a broader scope. I would appreciate your input and suggestions.

Each Friday (published on Thursday) when I do Welcome Wagon Friday, I will introduce new vendors to Cozy Little Shoppes. And in the same vein, tell a little about you and your business.

How much will it cost me?

The cost is $20 per month. Or $50 for a three-month subscription. You can pay with Paypal.

These rates are good from April 2011 through April 2012. First billing cycle will begin April 1, 2011.

What do I need to do if I’m interested?

Email me with your inquiry/interest. I will need a 125 x 125 pixel button to put in my shoppes sidebar. I will need the link address of your site.

Where did I get my inspiration for this?

I was inspired to explore this idea by Jami at the Freckled Laundry blog, and home of The Vintage Market. She ventured out on her blog, and started promoting sites in this fashion.

An incredible idea, I thought to myself! My heart lies with Etsy and other small cottage industries. (And I do spend a fair amount of time shopping online at Etsy shops myself! One of these days I hope to have my own little shop.)

I came from a small town. I like the ambiance. The camaraderie. And I wanted to create that sort of atmosphere here at Cozy Little Shoppes.

Cozy Little Shoppes is officially launched as soon as I hit Publish for this post. If you’re interested or have questions, please email me at brendakula@gmail.com.

  19. Hellooo Brenda!

You’re so very sweet to offer this feature! Small town girls have big hearts. It makes me want to open an Etsy shop :) I’ll be by often to check it out!

    Hugs!!!

  20. I think the cozy litte shoppes idea is great!! Gives folks places to shop that relate to the areas of interest they like to read on blogs. I also think YOU deserve to get something back for all the effort you put in to this blog. I’m all for bloggers advertising and getting paid for it, since the blog really turns into a job. The only thing I will say is that some of the larger adds (like a big home depot add) that have shown up on a favorite blog, totally locks up my computer!! Very frustating!!

  21. What a great idea…I don’t have a shop but I hope to one day….You are such a thoughtful person….
