I can't recall where I found this gorgeous bedroom. Probably Country Living. But I love it. It screams come and jump on in.
There is nothing more relaxing than sitting down in a comfy chair with a stack of old magazines. Make myself some coffee.
And settle in for some sweet inspiration.
I will be thankful for all my quilts in a few months. It will be my first winter in Tulsa. Where ice and wind are par for the course.
I will light my favorite vanilla-scented candles. And bask in the warmth of coziness.
I will have to have some greenery in the form of potted house plants, until I can get out and dig in the dirt come spring.
I may be leaving my beautiful gardens here. But I look forward to a blank canvas. A fresh landscape. Ideas are swirling through my head!
I have had good luck with some vines here. But one of my very favorite vines is the morning glory. And I've had no luck here with it for some strange reason. I want those vivid blue flowers winding up a trellis in my new yard.
So many possibilities await me! My grandchildren. My daughters. My little blue house!
I want to thank two wonderful blog friends for gifts sent to me this week. Maureen of Daydream Living sent me a red and white heart all the way from Switzerland. And Stacey of A Sort Of Fairy Tale sent me the latest issue of Flea Market Style. I thank you both so very much!

Brenda ~ what lovely and warmly inviting pictures. The temps here are supposed to drop to 36 F tonight. I could use a few of those wonderful quilts brrrrr ;-)
All of this sounds so good to me! It is really getting fall-like here weatherwise, temps dropped and it is dreary and rainy. Not much color on the trees yet, haven't seen any pumpkins either. xo,
Brenda,
Morning glories are a great choice. Mine are still blooming and brightening up the garden. I'm looking forward to you setting up your new home and creating new garden beds. It's inspirational. So glad I met you in Blogland!

I love those quilts! Beautiful images.

I'm thrilled to see that you are still taking some time to thumb through your magazines. I can't wait to start in with your new little blue cottage. It's an open slate, just like life for you to now create.
Hi Brenda,
beautiful photos to inspire us. I can't wait to see what you do with your new blue house...it's cute now but will be even cozier once you settle in.
Hugs,
Cheryl
I'm pretty that bedroom is from Sarah Richardson and it was in Country Living. I loved that show and am positive I posted about her whole cottage by the sea.
I am now wishing it was winter all over again after seeing this!
Best wishes and happy weekend,
Natasha.
I meant to say I'm pretty sure...not I'm pretty!!
xoxo
Brenda you have such a beautiful way of writing. Don't need pictures because you write pictures in my head. Your photos are beautiful but they only enhance your writing. I am so excited for you!!!!
Yes, that bedroom pick is from Sarah Richardson's Summer House - I knew right away! I love quilts and candles and anything cozy, Fall & Winter are my seasons. Can't wait to see your new home! :-)
Honestly, it all sounds heavenly =-) I am looking forward to your posts from the new digs!
Love that image!! Very simple, clean and cozy! And I'm sure your little blue house will be the same this winter. It certainly can't be as bad as the upper Midwest!! I'm sure you will be able to grow morning glories. They grow like weeds here. They just need a lot of water to germinate and bloom.
Have a wonderful weekend!!
XO,
Jane
It's a nice vision to have--a new slate and fresh beginnings in the cozy blue house. Sure, you will have those see-saw days and ups and downs, but once you are moved your creativity will flow so well and fast that the past will move into the background. I love the dreams you have for your little blue house.
I am so pleased that you linked to Potpourri Friday. Your participation certainly makes the party more successful . I appreciate you and hope you will make this one of your regular stops each week!
Brenda, beautiful, comforting inspirational photos. Dream about lovely things and look forward to your new home. Thanks for sharing,
Babs
I really enjoyed speaking with you today on the phone and working together on my blog. Now I look at your blog with clearer vision. I feel I know you so much better. I have that same vine growing over an iron arbor in my backyard too! Isn't it Jasmine or Jesamine? Mine has yellow flowers like yours. I'm really looking forward following your new journey to OK. Your little blue house is so charming!
You will have so much fun in your new home and taking photos and sharing with us will keep us all close to you! Sending you HUGS from sunny Florida tonight! ♥
I'm sitting here under a cozy blanket right now because it's 40 degrees outside.....A sign of times to come. :) And then I'll start counting the days til vacation in Florida.... lol! Love your colorful, happy, cozy photos!

The anticipation is killing me!And the blue flowers your heart desires will go so sweetly with your lil blue house.
BTW you must have your lap top to give us all a play by play of your journeys "home".
Gorgeous Quilts...Now, if you decide that you won't be needing them for your move, just let me know...I know of a super great home for them...I'm thinking they would look lovely right here!
Did you quilt them?
Blessings,
Shug
I love that picture of that room, too. You have some wonderful quilts and I am sure they will be used this winter. So much for you to look forward to. Wish I was close by to help.
Brenda if you don't want to pack all those quilts you can send some my way! Your post makes me want to cuddle up with a good book and some hot cocoa!

I bet morning glories will do great in Tulsa....just don't over fertilize or they will only grow green leaves!
Your quilts will look stunning in your new heart home ...with all the blue!
Sarah Richardson is a super star decorator here in Canada!
So looking forward to seeing your new beginning!
Beautiful quilts, how wonderful to have them.
As always happy I came to visit, you have such a way with things, peaceful.
Brenda, I love doing the same things. I have dozens and dozens of magazines I have saved through the years. And when I get the urge to redo ... I browse through the photos, gathering ideas and dreaming of how to reinvent my space. I love this activity!
That top picture is from Sarah Richardson's house. I LOVE it too!! I'm looking forward to having quilts on the bed again!! Your little blue house and garden in Tulsa will be picture perfect once you get there and put your decorative touch on it!!
sounds like a plan Brenda. Looking forward to you moving to Tulsa. you are blessing it with so much positivity. Good on you! best wishes. Jane x
I planted morning glories one year from seed and I noticed it took about a good year for them to really get going! They'd be beauitful in your back yard! Blue ones to match the house, but of course! I can't wait to see which quilts wind up on which walls! You'll be dazzling all of us w/your decorating skills in no time and we are all waiting w/baited breath!
This is exactly how I love to spend a free moment...reading magazines ( Country Living foremost) and sipping good coffee. Love this post !
Hmm lounging in a chair with some magazines and a Latte sounds like a good idea. I could use a dose of inspiration, I am coming up short with my Fall ideas.
Love quilts, love red, love this post!
These are a few of my favorite things! Quilts, coffee, plants, magazines. The simple pleasures. I'm glad they are yours. Morning glories? Love hate. Love them when they are fresh, hate them when they reseed and get weedy.
Oh, I can send you some seeds if you like - I grow Grandpa Ott's morning glories. It's an heirloom variety.
Brenda,
Your red quilts are gorgeous. Rhoda at Southern Hospitality just featured a cottage done in all reds and whites. You might enjoy looking at it.
You will have all winter to decorate the house and dream of what to di with your new garden! Sounds like a lovely, cozy winter agenda:>)
Beautiful bedroom!
Winter...be an ant, and prepare now (once you move in)for winter. That way your chores are done outside, except for any inside work..more time to snuggle in that beautiful bedroom and read about future plans..winters are pretty nice...
I love a good cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate or teas in the winter with a good pile of magazines, quilts, and dreaming...
I think you are going to Love being closer to your daughters and grandchildren.
Just found your blog, I am liking it. Yu have so many followers and I am your newest. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.
I cannot begin to tell you how inspiring and encouraging your posts are. With the addition of maybe one small item I can take things I have and make a beautiful display. A center piece that I enjoy so much. The quilts are just lovely. And this cool day makes me want one to cuddle up with. Thanks for all you do to make us all smile. I like your honesty too. Life isn't always coming up roses but when we put one foot in front of the other all turns out good. Have a wonderful weekend.
When are you moving? I can't wait to hear about it. What an adventure!!
That first photo fits you perfectly, Brenda...it just seems so you with all the red. You should see ALL the magazines I have, it's rather scary. I love looking through them over and over too :)
wonderful post the red caught my eye ~ you have some beautiful blessings
O, Brenda, I do love your spunk and your sweet spirit.
Wintertime is my most favorite season of the year. I love everything about it. I can see that, even tho you are a summer girl because you love to garden, you also appreciate the warmth and coziness of winter....I love that about you.
xo, bj
Having lived in KS for a number of years, I can tell you that morning glories do very well there! My neighbor grew them one year and they just kept reseeding themselves and growing back each year!
I love the way you used a zinc canning jar lid for a candle holder! very cute!!!!!
I can't wait to see what you do with the new house...
PS--you're right, Tulsa does get wind and a lot of ice rather than snow. Those quilts will be wonderful! :)
Just found your blog today & love it! New follower :)
