It’s call distracting ourselves. I do this all the time, and hey, when creativity strikes, go with it. I am sure it will all work out later. Have any primer, that should cover up some mistakes.
Then you can start fresh.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
I like your idea for the knobs. Wonder if you could Mod Podge the numbers to the tops of the knobs. You have to be crazy excited to get in the new house, so maybe staying busy is the way to go.
Great idea using the cardboard. I see neat ideas like this on the internet all the time and always forget to take mental note when I need to use them.. doh…. Your daughter is right! Pack it up, Girl!!
Love that you are creative and busy! There are times when your brain just swirls with everything you want to do! I love those times…
You sure are keeping yourself busy Brenda, but these are fabulous projects your working on! Can’t wait to see how you transform that white table!! Martina
This is GOOD. You know when. Hope your back has settled down – smaller loads, lift with knees, ask for help.
Love the red for your Little Blue House.
- Joy
I’ll be glad to make letters or numbers for you, with my Cricut and vinyl, if that’s the route you choose. It only takes minutes, and I can whip ‘em into an envelope and have them at the first Cozy Little House or the second Cozy Little House (second one being the point of all our dreams now, Cannot Wait!!!). Let me know if I can help with the knobs. I’m in love with that red table and I know you and Liane will get the job done and it’ll be your usual gorgeousness.

That is such a good idea from BJ with the cardboard.
Never would have thought of that. I think it is good that you are distracted. You have been doing alot to get ready to move so you need a different pace.
I can feel your excitement from here, and it’s so good to see you creating some wonderful things for your new home! You better not be reading this though. You should be packing!
The little table had probably been painted with an oil based paint. If you tried to put latex on top of it, it won’t work. Use a primer and them you can put latex or whatever you want on it. BJ’s cardboard idea is great.
I do this: I get a piece of glass cut to cover a table, and then you can put anything you like cut to fit the top. You can change it out with assortments..collections..in a nautical bedroom we have boat show tickets and things like postcards under the glass. You could put fabric or oilcloth as the base, then recipes or seed packets, needlebooks, anything..then the glass. Just an idea.
Sometimes we just need a break, enjoy yours and when you’ve finished the crafting you’ll get your packing done.
I always say I need to do something crafty each day just to keep my sanity.
Brenda,
BJ is just full of wonderful ideas! I’m going to remember that. The idea could be used for other things too.
Love the shade of red, and the little white table looks adorable in the photo.
Went antiquing today and all I could think of was…what can I spray paint when I get home???
It sounds like fun!!!! Plan C is going to be cute….I can see it already……I like Plans C, D, and E if necessary! I love that really vintage plant stand!!! I have been looking for items like that for years….I need to bring a U-Haul to the Midwest and Texas….no doubt! LOL Have a great week and pack sitting down if you can……LOL Sandy
I’m with Terry’s idea about the glass top – cause I know how you always like to change things around. But maybe do it after you move. Since your house is small you may want to paint most things white and just highlight with red????? By the way, I happen to LOVE wooden knobs, especially the large ones that you see on many English cottage cabinets in the Cotswolds. Keeping busy is good, just watch your health and don’t overdue (I used to be a nurse, so you see I can’t help myself worrying about you). – Lana
I love that little white table! Can’t wait to see the final result with the red table. After viewing your post, I found myself looking around my house to see what I could paint red. Uh oh!
That is a real good idea BJ gave you about the cardboard! Can’t wait to see what you do with the little white table as I own her sister. Painting, mod podging, doing! Brenda, you sound fine to me! Good for you!

Love that you have a plan c. I mess everything up so I have multiple plans, and sometimes even then they end up in the bin at the end of it all. I would have messed up the doilies – I know that. They are all going to be lovely pieces when you’ve finished them. I am trying to think twice now before I buy anything at garage sales etc. Too many projects all the time. But it’s so worth it in the end.
Brenda,
Hope you back is feeling better. 3rd week of October, huh? I can’t wait!!!
Great idea for painting the knobs. And I love the picture at the op of the post. You sound so busy…remember to have some chocolate and relax a little. hahahaha
Debbie
Such a great tip for painting the knobs! Can’t wait to see how you finish them off! Love your white table, such a sweet size and shape!
Hope you have a GREAT week Brenda!
So glad to see you excited about a project again. Have a good week!
love the tables !!! its amazing what alittle paint can do
Why not paint them with red polka dots…one of your faves?
Brenda~ you gave me a chuckle… I do the same thing when I know there is something else bigger on the horizon. I flit around like a butterfly…tasting the nectar of the little flowers and getting distracted on the way!
It is our nesting nature. We can’t help it.
Get your projects done, quit bending and stooping over them (you’re back won’t heal that way, girl) and get to packing… There is something bigger on the horizon!
…by the way, I love that little white spindle legged table, Pat
Wow…you have been busy my friend…love the knobs and the idea on how to paint them…will remember that trick.
Hugs for a great week. xoxo
Time will go by especially quickly in the next month. Looks like you’ve go lots to do. Mimi
You’ve been busy! Love the knob number idea!… and this new cozy house of yours is gonna be something special indeed with all your touches.
Great idea for the knobs…I like that idea….
Can’t wait to see all your ideas for the Blue house!
p.s pack!
Is oilcloth too obvious a solution for the little red table? Personally, I would like to cover every piece of furniture in my house with that wonderful stuff.
What a wonderful idea about simply screwing the knobs into cardboard to paint them – ingenious! I also love the glass top idea and change the displays as you want. I have a glass top on my desk here and that gives me an idea…hmmmm
I know you are beyond excited about your new home!
Blessings,
Dianne

Hi Brenda,
I agree with what Muddy Boot Dreams said…you are distracting yourself for a while. I think it is a wonderful break from packing which can be so overwhelming at times.
I love your little white table! In fact, I have one similar to yours that I plan to paint white. I use mine as a little side table by the recliner in the bedroom. It’s just the right size for the phone and also a cup of coffee if one decides to do a little relaxing there.
As for your red table…why not cover the top with some decorative ceramic tiles?
Remember, don’t let those little projects become your priority right now. You can always do them once you get moved.
Have a great day!
Velma
It’s all good, Brenda. Your creative juices flowing and moving forward!
