Just staying home taking care of my dogs while my husband does inventory. I did the running thing all day yesterday so it;s good to be home. It is dark outside was snowing and now raining.
So glad you get to spend time with your daughter.
Sounds like a perfect way to spend your day, with your daughter! I would love to be able to spend the day with one of my daughters, enjoy!!
I really love the way the black cabinets ground the room, they make the perfect background for your dishes.
Lunch at home, is a real treat.
And what pretty napkins, my sister has plates that almost match.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
Brenda, My daughter was to come over today with her two children..but came last night instead with the kids and her husband..what a surprise. I gave them magazines and books
:) Hope you have a wonderful day with your daughter, get some catching up done. Glad you did get your auto tag. Smiles, Susie
Pizza at home with a daughter sounds like a winner. My day is doing laundry and fixing a late breakfast here in a bit. We are living out of suitcases because we are back and forth to Cleveland. I know we will be relieved when all this gypsy living settles down and we can just stay home. My house is a shambles, but at this point I do not care. In the past it would have driven me nuts, (maybe I am already nuts and just don’t know it?) lol. Snowing here, a great excuse to be snug right here in the house. Have a great day with your daughter. I will be spending 4 days straight in a hotel with both of mine, I love them, but a mom can only take so much. They are too big to spank!
Good Morning Brenda! That’s nice that you and your daughter were able to spend time together at your cozy little house. Mmm pizza sounds delish! Today I think I’ll head out and work with my horse for a bit then I’ll make some pizza dough for supper since it’s pizza night at our house tonight. Enjoy your weekend!
Sounds lovely. You should let the company know where you bought the fabric that there were stains on it. I bet they would send you a new yard. I slept until after 8!! I NEVER do that. I am up with the roosters every day. I must have needed some extra sleep. My daughter and grandson are bringing donuts over in a minute, and after that, a day of stuff around the house. May even sneak in a trip to the quilt shop!!!
Happy day!!
Have a wonderful lunch date! The table looks adorably cozy and love the new napkins!!
I have the SweetCheeks here until about noon. Then I am dropping her off home…then going back later to help her and her two sissies get ready for the Father/Daughter school dance. A project started by my daughter a few years ago and it has grown beyond belief. THEN…after they are gone hubby and I are heading across the peninsula to a little cafe for a meal!
Enjoy the afternoon with your daughter. xo Diana
Glad you were able to get your tag situation cleared up. No big plans for the day, but do have things that need to be done.
Enjoy lunch with your daughter – pizza sounds good.
A perfect Saturday!
I feel well enough to take down Christmas! FINALLY! woot!
xx

I would give anything to have a lazy Saturday lunch with my mom.
Have a little sunshine, so taking my Greta for a walk and planning a chinese dinner…since we can not afford to go out. Use what I have here!
What a perfeact way to spend a Sat. with some one you love in a warm cozy home with dogs to pet. Who could ask for more. Wow, and cute napkins too.
A friend is coming over for lunch today, and we will order in. Working on my new printer. Enjoying unseasonally warm weather here. xo
Brenda, your home is just adorable. Hope you are loving life here in Oklahoma.
When the construction is complete I’ll be moving into a Senior Independent Living arrangement. So I’m enjoying your photos of the inside of your little blue house…getting ideas to steal. Your photography is totally grand.
Today I’m doing my daughter’s laundry – she’s recovering from total ankle replacement.
Not much. Just a quiet day at home. Have fun with your daughter. Hugs, Marty
I’ve run the roads the past two days, so I will be home cleaning house and enjoying my time at home.
Well I spent the morning painting a cabinet, next I’m having a bubble bath to get rid of all that paint, then I’m making muffins as I’m visiting a long-lost friend for tea this afternoon.
My daughter is home from college this weekend and I’m enjoying a much needed weekend with both of my kids!! Have a great day!
Your cozy home is a much nicer setting for lunch than a noisy restaurant. Enjoy your time with your daughter.
I’m planning on finishing up a little facelift I’m giving my old pine IKEA buffet.
Have a wonderful day!
What a cute set up you created for you and your daughter. Aren’t daughters fun?? I have one and another baby on the way, which I pray will be another girl. I hope you and your daughter have fun eating pizza in a special way.

I had my dear friend and closest neighbor over for and unplanned breakfast of biscuits and Canadian bacon. I could not of asked for a more kindred spirit in a neighbor. Now I am resting at our yellow house from a week of traveling a bit. I am also making broccoli, potato and cheese soup. I did not go to garage sales today which conveys how tired I am. Lunch at your cozy house looks restful and much more intimate than going out. Enjoy:)
Brenda! I just realized ‘who’ you are. I’ve not spent a lot of time blogging in the past year or two (reading or writing). At some time, I must’ve stumbled upon your blog (this one), and clicked to follow it. Maybe I even did it when you closed the last one, and just forgot about it…not sure.
Anyway, I was reading through back posts of yours in my google reader, when I began to sense that you were familiar to me; little tidbits of things you said, as well as your style of photography. Then I read where you said you’d moved from Tyler to Oklahoma (I remembered you having daughters there!), and saw pics of your pooches. When I saw you called one of them by name (Charlie Ross), I suddenly realized who you were!
Though you obviously have financial challenges now that you didn’t seem to have when writing your old blog, you sound happier in your writing now. All that to say, it’s good to see you again (and don’t feel badly if you don’t remember me!
Enjoy lunch! Your table setting is so pretty and your napkins are sweet.
Enjoy your lazy afternoon and I hope the sun is shining there!
Enjoy your lunch with your daughter! Sounds like fun! Pizza sounds yummy, haven’t had it in quite awhile.
I love looking at all the red in your home! It lifts my spirits. I’ve decided to add more red touches into my rooms this year.
Regarding your rust stains on your napkins. I have used Oxiclean and Dawn detergent successfully to remove rust stains on vintage linens (that have had stains in them for years). Just soak your linens in hot water with Oxiclean (alone works also) and/or you can add Dawn determent too to the water. Let it soak overnight – sometimes two or more soaks may be necessary. Sometimes just a few hours works.
I love how you say “it’s just pizza” and then set the table and make “just pizza” feel like the Queen of the table with the beautiful dishes and napkins. Just goes to show it doesn’t matter what is on the menu as long as it is lovingly presented!
You know…I like this cozy home so much better than where you lived before. It is so light and bright and cheerful. Your personality is able to shine throughout!
Have a great lunch with your daughter Brenda! Now you have me craving pizza LOL!
Hi Brenda, thankyou so much for popping in over at mine. I love how you’ve set the table for your daughter and yourself it looks so pretty.Hope you enjoyed your pizza? lots of love juliexxx
oh, i love quiet day at home. cooking a pot of soup for dinner. trying to think what i want to have with it. we will see? yummy. hope you enjoyed your day with your daughter. (:
Love the cloche on the cake stand. I loving having people over for lunch. I don’t enjoy going out as much as I used to but for a treat and if it is just Dean and I and we can talk without the kids butting in, I can really enjoy. Mmm pizza!!
I spent the morning at the beach with my daughter and two of the dogs… it was wonderful. Odd for January around here, but I’m enjoying this wintermission.
So nice that you and your daughter are enjoying each other’s company in the pretty little blue house.
Love the napkins you made
I’m catching up on laundry and doing a bit of baking.
More time with your girls has got to be a treat! The table is so pretty and that little corner, so cozy. I would have a hard time leaving it too!
I had to work and tonight I am playing Trivia with a great bunch of friends. It will be good to see them. Love your lunch setup. I love red too. I’m sure you had a great time with your daughter.
I’m having an easy day! Some tweaking of the valentine decorations this morning, put a roast in the crock pot and now I’m watching the US Figure Skating Championships! Easy and restful!
Cleaning bedroom, sorting clothes, trying to find something to wear to a 50th bd party and I don’t like anything in my closet and I don’t want to go buy anything…so….I took a linen painter’s blouse that is pale white and sewed 3″ lace around the bottom. I purchased the lace in France 2 years ago and finally found a place for it. I then sewed on some handmade tatting on top of the lace seam to finish it off. I also sewed the tatting around the collar, (down the center). The tatting is about 1″ wide. Just exquisite..the lace.
I will add a large vintage pin at the neck and off I go…with black pants of course . hahha
Happy day
Brenda ~ I hope you have a fabulous lunch with your daughter. You will have such fun, pizza, talking and just relaxing ~ sound marvelous. I am painting the basement. We are getting ready to put the house on the market to downsize. Well, back to the paint can
The napkins are darling, too bad about the stain but great for napkins which will get stained anyway eventually!
I have a great blog friend that has a tutorial for backing up your blog. I was going to post it on mine but I get so few followers and it was your followers and you that were asking so just go to http://www.funkyjunkinteriors.blogspot.com/2011/01/back-up-your-blog-today.html or just go to her blog and search for blog backup. Google provides a way to back up your blog and also how to transfer your blog to another service. It is the “export” feature but be careful as the “delete” is right next to it! Hope this helps and if it does please send a thank you to Donna. She’s a very talented and sharing gal!
DISCLAIMER: LOL! I have not personally tried this yet so you’re on your own!
Hi Brenda,
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday…The napkins are so pretty and suit your home so well. It is good that you are keeping them for the kitchen.
I just have to say I love the dogs with their long hair they look so soft and cuddly!!
Have a wonderful Sunday it is blowing and snowing up a storm here tonight!
All the Best,
Christine
I hope you had a nice time at lunch. Your new napkins turned out pretty.
Hi Brenda, I loved that what Renna said about how you seem to be happier now in your writing! I spent the morning in my water color class at the sr center. It is so much fun, some very talented painters in it, lots of nice ladies, and a great teacher, and the price is wonderful for such a fun relaxing class. Tonight I’ll watch a movie w/my daughter! The wind storms are so bad here the past few days we’re staying in! The table looked lovely! Hope you girls had fun! Annette T
Brenda, I want you to decorate my house!!!!
It was a nice lazy day here. In fact, after the early morning insulin shot for kitty Sam 7am ( no more sleeping late) I went to my ‘office’ to clean up a few geneology tasks. Around 1pm the alarm goes off – another blood check for Sam – and I realize I was still in my jammies and hadn’t had breakfast yet. So I had lunch instead and then got dressed. That’s 6 hours and I’m still not done even though I spent the rest of the afternoon – the more I dig, the more I find and am glad I’m not living in the olden days.
Hi Brenda,
Sounds as if you were all set for a perfect day…pizza with your daughter in a very cute little-blue-house dining room! I love the napkins you made. I’ve never thought to sew my own napkins but it would be a good use of some of the odds and ends of quilting fabric I have stashed in my craft room…I wouldn’t even care if they matched. Unfortunately, I was out in the crowds today but am looking forward to a quiet day at home tomorrow.
Hugs,
Cheryl
Welllllll—my gig is up!! I guess you can call me a blog sniper. I am one of those people who poke around blog land but rarely comment. I’m not sure why but I don’t mean to offend anyone by it. Anyway—Mandi @ Vintage Revivals did a post on blog crushes and I had to confess that you are my secret blog crush (just kidding). Your blog is one of the few I come to and just feel a kinship with. When I’m sad your blog makes me happy and when I’m happy it makes me even happier.
Soooooo-I just wanted to leave a comment for you to let you know!!
Thanks for being a soulful blogger!!!
I’m sure your daughter loved being with you and I’m sure she felt special that you set such a sweet table for her. You can never go wrong with pizza! Did you make it or order it in? Inquiring minds want to know!
Be a sweetie,
shelia
Very Cute!! Love how you wrote- “Coming over for pizza, so I set the table” Made me smile when I read this and saw the table!!
Daisy~
What a pretty setting to enjoy time with your daughter! I am the same way about just wanting to have cozy lunches at home when friends ask to go out. It is so simple to make a delicious soup and salad and always taste so much better then a restaurant-plus you can have 2nds!!

Turning a simple Saturday pizza into a celebration by using lovely table decor….inspired! You always manage to make the ordinary special, Brenda.
Today the elder dauhter and I are bringing my step-mother into Tulsa for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory and we may get to stop by Hobby Lobby and GW. It’s a date we made in December and we’re really looking forward to the trip. Just the visit on the drive is more time than we normally have together.
I found you by way of Ms. Redo and happy to have done so. Two blogs celebrating my favorite color. WOW. It’s kismet! You have a very inspirational blog and I look forward to following along. Hugs. T
They haven’t invented anything yet that is more pleasurable than spending time with a loved one.
))
You have put this corner together so well…it looks totally charming and so cozy. I can’t think of anything nicer than a casual lunch in this spot with your daughter.
Sounds like a perfect day with your daughter. I love the napkins, Brenda! Your home looks so happy and bright!
xo

Brenda – you make a pizza lunch so special ! We had a great day– walked our dog on the town square (said hi to our vendor friends), came home and made a big family breakfast (too many calories but yummy) And then all the siblings go to “Nanas” for weekly weekend dinner and some family time for everyone- simple, but nice
I am a definite homebody! Tomorrow, I have jury duty. Please hope me that I don’t get on a case!
Carol
Both of my daughters were here for the weekend. It was wonderful.
Just catching up…
So glad to read that you have the vehicle tag problem resolved! One problem less to worry about!
