Pillows Galore

It's been over a week since I started cutting out these pillows. I have eight more to embellish in this batch.

I may embroider a stitch, tell myself it will do, that it is good enough. Only to go back five stitches later and take it all back out. And then chide myself for doing so.

They are not perfect. But then, nothing handmade is.

But they are bright with color. And color calls my name.

What better joy than to work with color?

Brenda, your pillows are spectacular! I love the colour combination of each pillow. You are so talented! I can see how hard you've been working!

Beautiful!! I know what you mean. I am working on some stuff for a September craft fair and hopefully an etsy shop. I get caught up in the "it's not perfect" mode and it frustrates me and makes me doubt my abilities. I love all your embellishments!

Brenda,
How much for one of the Blue, Red and Yellow?
I think they would look cute in my bedroom.
I want to support your etsy store.

I remember reading an Amish book one time and one thing I will never forget about the book. The Amish always leave a mistake in their "work" because only God is perfect. I try and apply that to my life every day when I get into perfectionism. I read that book over 20 years ago.

I have been wanting to comment about some of your posts pertaining to your concern about your wellness. My husband and daughter both have anxiety disorders and I have been so grateful to them because it has made me have patience, compassion and good listening skills. I know they both don't like how they feel at times but I feel blessed that there is medicine and what it has added to my life knowing them.

So glad your pillows are selling out so fast. No one deserves Etsy success more than you Brenda. It is a great way to make money from home, except for the post office trips. Love your bright cheerful colors.

I love all the bright colors! I like how you have them displayed too, in the wire planter (it looks to be). Too cute!

Brenda you sound a lot like me when it comes to making things for others, always your own worst critic and always afraid that the item is just not good enough...but isn't it a great feeling when the person just loves it!

Brenda,

I'd love to have the one with the red bandana/black & white check. Is it still available? (Didn't see it on the shop.)

You can contact me at fettercin-shop@yahoo.com.

They are beautiful colors indeed--I truly believe in the charm of imperfection, but I do obsess over anything I make, so I "get it"!

Perfection is a relative term, Brenda! Just the fact that it is handmade can be a reason to consider a pillow "perfect!" Linda

Stop second guessing yourself. They are all beautiful. I for one believe that handmade shouldn't have to be perfect. The fact that it is handmade is perfection enough for me. Wishing you all the best, Tammy
