Sunshine

Sunshine on my shoulders
Makes me happy...

Sunshine in my eyes
Can make me cry

Sunshine on the water
Looks so lovely

Sunshine almost always
Makes me high

If I had a day
That I could give you

I'd give to you
A day just like today

If I had a song
That I could sing for you

I'd sing a song
To make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders
Makes me happy

Sunshine in my eyes
Can make me cry

Sunshine on the water
Looks so lovely

Sunshine almost always
Makes me high...
- John Denver

Thanks, Vickie, for sending me sunshine...

What wonderful images to go with John Denver's words. I always feel bittersweet when I hear that song because of how soon we lost him. I was lucky enough to see him in concert back in the 70's and he was so REAL! Love your pictures...and I hope you find a bit of sunshine in your soul today- xo Diana

I feel so cozy now after visiting. So bright and cozy over there for sure. I am hunkered in my cozy little cape cod just listening to the huffy puffy wind outside my windows. SS is a great meme.

Beautiful photos for a beautiful song. I saw John Denver at Market Square Arena in Indianaplois in the 70's. He was the artist that spoke to my heart with his music.

In 1974, I needed to have an old upright piano tuned. I called a company and they sent out someone. When I answered the door, I could not speak - I was struck absolutely dumb. The young man standing at my door was John Denver's double. Same hair, same glasses, same voice and especially that same laugh. I could hardly speak to him because I was in awe. I finally found my voice and stated, "do you know you look and sound like JD" - he smiled that famous smile and said Yeah! I get that a lot. I could hardly tell the young man about my piano. It was one of the most interesting things that ever happen to me. Several years later, JD came into a restaurant where my son was working as an apprentice cook. My son came out for a break and sat at the bar and looked at the man next to him - couldn't believe it was John Denver. He stated that my mother is one of your biggest fans and she won't believe that I am sitting next to you. My son stated he was so down to earth. I still miss him so much - its hard to believe he is gone.
Hugs,
Connie

Oh, my goodness! @Pondside, there was no special occasion for the flowers. I have come to consider Brenda a friend through her blog, and last week it seemed like she could use a pick-me-up. I don't think she realizes everything that she does for all of us on a daily basis. The flowers were nothing in comparison! Happy Sunday to Brenda and all of her blogging friends!

I am a huge John Denver fan, so it is always wonderful to read his lyrics. He is definitely gone too soon.

Love the bouquet, too. I sent the same one to a dear friend about a year ago, and she said they made her so happy every time she looked at them. How thoughtful of your friend to send them to you. I'd say that friend has great timing!

Love the bright and cheery bouquet! I once sent a friend of mine who was going through a very sad time a bouquet with flowers similar to these but it had lemon slices at the bottom of the clear vase. I sure hope it made her smile as I bet these did for you! You can't get much happier than bright sunny yellow. : )
