Tweak It Tuesday is still going on. So if you want to link up, head on over. I just had to post some pretty photos I found while web surfing this afternoon.
In other news, I saw my surgeon this morning, and I’ll tell you where I am at this point in my recuperation from ankle surgery. But at the same time I want to show you some things I’m really crushing on around Blog Land.
Don’t you just love this FAMILY sign by Our Prairie Home blog.
I love absolutely everything this woman does. But isn’t this wall vignette beautiful from Kate’s Place?
I think this vintage high chair is just so lovely in this corner, courtesy of Cabin And Cottage.
Stonegable just knows how to make a kitchen pretty. No doubt about it. And she has one of the prettiest kitchens I’ve ever seen.
And oh, how I love this house belonging to Common Ground. Debra, you just have the magic touch.
Adventures In Decorating knocked my socks off with this gorgeous tableau.
Coastal Charm put this gorgeous basket together. Full of fall and inspiration.
Miss Flibbertigibbet had me swooning with this one. Fall decorating at its finest.
I saw the surgeon this morning. I have gone from wearing a steel boot to a brace, which is sort of like a low steel boot. I’m to wear it for six weeks with a sneaker laced over it. It’s very supportive of my ankle, and not heavy like the boot.
I’m to start physical therapy. Boy, this seems like a long haul. I want to get out and move about more. But this is just going to take longer than I expected. I’m not known for my patience. But this one’s out of my hands.
Thanks to all of you who have supported me through your well wishes and gifts and emotional support. I couldn’t ask for better friends.

Great features Brenda. Some of my favorites too.
Brenda I am so happy that your healing is moving to a new level. It is so hard to be patient but you are doing great! Love the photos you shared with us! Hugs, Linda
Gee thanks Brenda! Fun to see my high chair here. Glad you like it! I dress it up as much as my table. And fall is such a pretty and easy time to decorate. Don’t you think?
Sounds like you’re doing great in the healing department! I’m sure you ARE more than ready to get out and move around. But, it won’t be long now that you’re starting physical therapy. They’ll have you up and around in no time! Hang in there!
Gosh, sorry you have to wear the brace for 6 weeks. I remember when you were looking forward to September, hoping to get out of the wheelchair and cast, now it will be middle of November that you are looking forward to. Will someone come to your house for physical therapy? You obviously can’t drive yet. I really hope the time foesn’t quickly for you.
My goodness Brenda, your recovery has been painfully slow. It would be a character building exercise for me for sure. I am not patient either. I had trouble with activity restrictions for a few weeks. Now I know I had zero reason for complaint. Yvonne’s kitchen makes me weep in the best way. xo, olive
I’m so glad you’re moving into the next phase of your recovery!! you’ll be good as new soon, Brenda! thanks so much for the sweet comment and feature!!
Ugh…time goes quickly for you! Stupid iPhone auto-correct : /
I get all excited when I hear good news on your part…wonderful to know that you are up and walking a bit more.
I had a friend do the same thing, she found out after that she had wicked osteoporosis, and that’s why her ankle shattered. Now years later she is fine, just very careful about how she walks.

Oh, Brenda! I have been gone a long time. This sounds like you have been really having your share of junk happen. At least you are out of the steel boot and into something more comfortable. Yikes, but it sounds like it hurts.
I had physical therapy on my hand when I fell over my computer cord and landed on my little finger. It broke like nobody’s business. It looked like an accordian. One little word of advice, please do your exercises long beyond the point where you think you need them to keep your ankle supple. I have had to do that a lot lately with my finger (which I broke years ago), and I wish I had done it for years. Hopefully, this will be a process that will be very helpful to you. Will be thinking of you as you go through it.
And I enjoyed seeing the pretty vignettes. I have that little moon harvest sign in my kitchen in St. A. so I smiled when I saw it tonight. And I love Yvonne’s pretty vignette. They are all lovely. Good job surfing!
I can’t get to your address because I had to shut down that email address when someone sent me a virus in what I am convinced was an attempt to steal my address or get into my blog some time ago. They sent it supposedly as someone from blogger. I thought it was a follower. Not. And not so nice. Anyhow, I have had something for you for months, and I would like to send it to you now. If you don’t mind me pestering you for it again, I will stick this in the mail to you. My personal email is on this post.
XO,
Sheila
Continue to heal quickly. you will be running before no time.
I am so proud of you and how you have handled this broken bone situation!! I know you will be anxious to start your physical therapy and will do everything they tell you to. You’ve done such a good job so far.
Lovely pictures on this post.
Judy
I don’t comment often, but just wanted to say how glad I am to hear your ankle healing is going well! Keep up the good work! I enjoy your blog so much and loved your features today.

Hi Brenda…My daughter broke her ankle when she was home from her honey moon only one month after getting married…slipped on the ice and down she went…she has a 8″ steel rod in her foot and leg…that was 19 years ago…she is 38 today…it was a long and difficult road for her…she chose not to have the rod removed because she wanted no more surgery…she could of had it removed a year after getting it but chose not to…I went to physical therapy with her and she got through just fine…good luck to you!! You are doing great Brenda!!! Carol
hi debbie..i have always enjoyed your blog. i wonder if you could do me a small favorite. I fell in love with the calendar you had last year on your blog…who is the artist that did that????
Thanks in advance…
glenda
Don’t recall what I had last year. This year’s is Susan Branch.
Brenda
All such lovely vignettes. I love fall!
You picked some of my favorites too! Good luck with your PT. My right ankle is now back to about 95% . It always takes longer than you want it to but you will get there soon enough!
~Lynn
We just want you to be careful when you’re going out in the backyard, as we know you are want to do! It’s great news that the healing is progressing. I’m so happy for you to be able to get rid of that boot.
Well done. I’m so glad that you’re progressing so well. I broke both my ankles 4 years ago and had to have surgery and it is a long haul. I’m afraid and you will have to take it easier than you would like but it is worth it in the long haul so hang on in there kid and keep on keeping on!! Love the blogs you’ve shown. Take care. Joan
Brenda, I am glad that you are healing!! Patience is so very hard for me too!!! Hope that you heal quicker than expected!!!
Good news, Brenda. Glad to hear things are moving along. I know it has been a long hard road and you have been tried so much. Maybe that light at the end of the tunnel is finally staying put! I agree with Sheila, go beyond what the therapist reccommends for recovery. I broke my right wrist 3 years ago and was told I would never be able to press my palms together and lift my elbow to an equal level. Well, yes I can. Think I am too stubborn to listen to nay sayers. Enough about me. Love your blog and your posts, prayig for you daily. You have made such wonderful progress. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Yay, you are making progress with the foot! You’ll be amazed at what the therapy can do for you. Those people work miracles.
Hi Brenda, I’m so happy for you, that you’ve come this far with your ankle.. You really did a number on it and now your healing process is getting into full swing.. I think you’ve been very patient.. You’ve kept busy and kept your readers busy at the same time.. Cudos to Judy for making sure you “toed” the mark..
I’ve enjoyed seeing all of the “tweaking” that has been going on.. There are so many talented women who love to decorate their homes and share their talent on your blog.. I know the Christmas tweaking will be a sight to behold..
Sending wishes for everything good to come your way. No more bad stuff..
Hugs,
Charlotte in Va.
I’m so glad your progressing on your road to recovery…that must be so hard for you to not be up and around the way you’d like. Hopefully things continue to go well. xo
Those are some inspirational photo’s you shared! I’ll have to go visit those blogs and see more. So sorry that you are still not completely healed. Gosh, it has taken sooooooo long to recover from your injury! I’m not a patient person either and I don’t know how you’ve done it so well for so long. Just yesterday, I pulled a calf muscle in my leg while working around the yard. Didn’t do anything challenging, but I’ve been noticing some tension in that leg for a long time. Guess it finally let me know to give it a rest. So, I’m hobbling around and trying to rest it. I won’t see a doctor for it unless it fails to heal. Now, it’s time for me to be patient like you, I guess!
Hi Brenda, Glad to hear that you’re progressing along with your ankle. I know it’s been rough but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. You always find the coolest blogs! I’ve found so many lovely blogs through your introduction – thanks.
Hi, Brenda! I’m so glad your ankle is healing! Just keep telling yourself you’re on the home stretch! Thanks so much for featuring my “Family” shelf. I did that over a year ago and just threw it up there for lack of anything better. I had to go dig around for it in the attic. LOL!!! Take care and I hope this next six weeks goes by fast for you!
Thank you so much brenda!! I’m so happy you are healing.
Kathy
I’m with you Brenda, those photos are gorgeous!!
Oh, Brenda! Have been following your ordeal. You are right,,, patience is a hard skill to perfect. I had hip surgery about 5 years ago, and I learned a lot during that recovery period. It is a bit humbling, and as you get stronger, you will not take going for a walk, or getting from one room to another ever for granted again. I truly understand when I hear “Patience is a virtue.” Know that it will get easier, and following the therapy plan and doing it longer once your treatment is finished is a really good idea. If they prescribe Ibuprofen or even stronger when you start therapy, TAKE IT. Don’t believe you don’t need it. If they tell you it will help, then truly…do take it. It is amazing how much we take something “simple” like walking for granted. It is a miracle how all the bones and muscles and tendons all work together, and that they do it thousands and thousands of times each day for us. I hope you know how many of us are watching your progress and sending our best wishes, thoughts, and prayers every day.
Well, at least the boot is gone. Sounds like you’ll be able to ambulate better now and you’ll be amazed at how well the physical therapy works. This is great news, Brenda. You’re on the home stretch now.
Hi Brenda,
I am so happy to see your recovery is moving right along! Thank you for all the inspiration you share!
