Yesterday I gathered some jars and bottles and what spray paint I had on hand, and headed for the back yard. I have loved seeing photos of these painted. So I wanted to try it.
This was just leftover paint from other projects. And I didn’t know how the colors would look together. But I’m kind of liking it!
The jars were clear. The shaped bottles I’d gathered over the years and were translucent shades.
This morning I cut up some faux greenery/berries and added them for interest. Then gave it a fall look with wooden acorns and a pumpkin and gourds.
I really like the textured look this centerpiece brings to the table.
So if you’re looking for a centerpiece that is a bit different, easy and costs nothing, this might be a project you want to try out.
Today at Cozy Inspiration, I have another Blogger Spotlight Home Tour.

I love these. How did you do it? Did you spray the outside or inside and how many coats and what kind of spray paint?
I sprayed the outside. Just one good coat, and a little touch up. I don’t know exactly what kind of spray paint I used. It was a mixture of very cheap up to Rustoleum.
Brenda
I like this idea. I wonder, too, if you can spray the inside? Your colors are pretty and you’ve trimmed everything so nicely with fall items.
I Googled how to paint bottles/jars before I undertook this project. You can put paint inside and let it swirl around till you’ve covered it. But I thought that would take too long. And wasn’t sure I would get good coverage. So I opted for spray paint.

Great job Brenda, they look wonderful. Very festive.
Jen
I wasn’t about to paint my aqua vintage jars. So I used the clear ones I had.
Brenda
A lovely idea ! You made a charming job !
The colours are so bright !
Have a nice evening !
Olympia
Yes, I tend to go with bright colors!
Brenda
Very cool, Brenda. I have seen a lot of jars but the bottles in an assortment of colors, shapes and sizes is really interesting.
I wanted it to look multi-level. To me it adds more visual interest.
Brenda
Looks great!! Love the gathering on your table…so pretty.
~Cindy
I like that it cost me nothing!
Brenda
Pretty Brenda. Even better that you are out and about doing some projects.:}
It felt good to get out in the backyard and get something done for the house.

Looks very nice! I like the centerpiece, but mostly I’m glad to hear you were outside with your spray paint to work on a project. Yay!

Claudia
Wore myself out. Laid low the rest of the day. But I’m glad I got them done.
Brenda
Great idea Brenda, I love them!
Even better, the whole project cost nothing!
Brenda
These are very pretty. I especially love the tall ones. I spotted the acorns…very nice. Deb
I found those little wooden acorns at Hobby Lobby. I like them as accents.
Brenda
Lovely centerpiece indeed! The spraypaint is such a great idea!
Hugs,
I like the way they turned out. But you can hardly go wrong with spray paint!
Brenda
Boy, you did a great job with the spray paint. Spray paint and I are not friends. I get way too impatient when I spray and wind up with drips. And I love the varying heights. I am glad you’re able to get out and enjoy what we have left of fall.
I’m not good with ANY kind of paint. But I didn’t screw up too much with this project. Just got it all over myself!
Brenda
Such a clever idea and very pretty colors. I like the idea of doing some for Christmas also.
I know you enjoyed being outside.. Good for you !
Charlotte
I did enjoy it. And I’m glad I didn’t put it off until today. Today is cold and rainy!
Brenda
What fun, Brenda!
Just look at how the embossing pops on each jar. This is such a creative way of using up all those cans of spray paint!
I love your colorful arrangement and all the tiny touches you have sprinkled between and atop the bottles.
Blessings,
Carolynn
Hi Carolynn. I too love how the embossing shows up. It’s my favorite part about them.
Brenda
I like it! Great colors! Happy fall!
Happy Fall to you too!
Brenda
Looks great! I told you you could spray paint!! Good job!
Judy
WOW…had no idea such a polished job could be accomplished by spraying glass. AND, you make it sound easy….Was it?
It looks wonderful, Brenda! I so need to try this with the jars I’ve been amassing!
Great minds think alike. I just did a post on painting bottles too.
really like these, I had only seen ball jars before, now I am regretting all the jars I have thrown!
LOVE the bottles! I’m copying you for Christmas
