Morning With The Sun Streaming In

I am enjoying these new pillow covers I made. They remind me of spring with their flowers.

Abi has been sick for weeks with this gastrointestinal thing. After the rocks. She seems to have stopped eating the rocks. Because Judy and John (bless them) came over and fixed it where she can’t get to them. I’ve been giving her meds for about 3 weeks. Guess I will have to call the vet again today.

I just hate it so much when my pet babies are sick and can’t tell me what hurts. It just breaks my heart.

Judy met me at Olive Garden yesterday after my PT and we had lunch. Then browsed Pottery Barn there at Utica Square where Olive Garden is. Didn’t buy anything. Can’t really afford their prices. Like to look though.

Still really enjoying my sweet barnyard tucks from The Rusty Thimble Etsy shop.

I’ve been pinning up a storm over on Pinterest. It is the only social networking site I truly enjoy and utilize. Eye candy for the soul.

  1. I love your house. I could easy pack my bags and move in tomorrow…well you probably wouldn’t like that, but you know what I mean! It is so cozy…and perfect. I Abi feels better soon. Poor baby.

  2. Hope Abi gets better soon…listen to mom, ABI, no more rocks….just continue to love your blog…hope PT is going well.

    • Abi has a lot of issues with me leaving the house, which is why I rarely leave the house and have almost no social life. I actually have to chase her down and hold her when I’m on the phone, as she will bark the entire time. Then run from me as I’m trying to catch her. As I mentioned above, today they put her on doggy Prozac. I sure hope it helps. But will take awhile to build up in her system.

I hear you about Abi, it’s heartbreaking when they are sick. I certainly hope that the vet can figure out what is wrong with her.

  4. I love PB too! But I seldom buy there!! I hope your fur baby is better soon!

  6. Helo gd morning, such lovely things posted…I don’t like it when anyone is sick…and it’s difficult when are animals aren’t well. Cause they can’t speak an say what they feel…I hope they figure out for her…Happy Holidays with love Janice

  7. Beautiful photos, Brenda! I love seeing that morning light. I rarely ever buy anything at Pottery Barn either… but I always look at their catalogs for inspiration! Hope Abi feels better soon.

  8. Ahhh poor Abi, my Shelby has been sick to her stomach the past couple of days, love my fur babies!

Enjoy the sunshine Brenda they are saying Oklahoma will be seeing winter weather shortly, darn it

Glad you are enjoying your tucks

  9. I am so sorry to hear about Abi, Brenda. I pray she is better soon.

    XO,

  10. I’m so sorry Abi is still struggling with this. Penelope has been sick for almost a week now with us both going out 4-5 times during the night. I put her on chicken and white rice which always used to get her over it but today the vet put her on two meds, nothing to drink or eat until tonight and then only their canned prescription food. At 15 she just doesn’t throw these things off like she used to. Brenda, sometimes I’m pinning on Pinterest and see your name on the main board pinning away! I guess we could get addicted but it’s just fun to be able to pick something pretty and pin it on my boards. Makes me feel like an artist! Let’s hope our little girls both get well soon.

    • Yes, I hope Penelope rallies quickly. Abi is only six years old, but has been sick with one thing or another. When she was a baby, it was her heart. I don’t dare give them anything but their prescription food. But the vet last week told me to give her a little yogurt mixed in with her food. She wouldn’t touch it. He suggested cottage cheese. I hate cottage cheese, but stopped at Braums and got her some. She loves the stuff! Won’t eat anything now without cottage cheese on it. He said it helps their intestinal tract.

  11. I hope Abi feels better soon, Brenda. Love all your Christmas touches. I just followed you on pinterest. Didn’t know you were on there. I need to pin more .

    hugs,

    • You know what? Pinterest is one of my biggest referrers. Check your Google Analytics. Finally a social networking site I actually enjoy!

Brenda, sorry about Abi, that’s a long time to be sick for her. I have a Morkie and in the house he’s a love, but get him in the car and he’s a different animal. I’ve never had a dog that cries in the car like he does! Even my groomer who has dropped him off for me says she can’t get over how bad he is. Hope the Prozac helps her. The pillows look great on the couch.

    • Well, mom is on anti depressants so I guess she should be too. We tried her on it years ago and it made her worse. Not sure if it was quite the same thing. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

  13. Hi Brenda~Its sad when our babies get sick..my cocker spaniel in a 2 week period became ill and we had to put her down..she got what the vet said was like Crones disease in us…nothing could be done and she had ale=ready lost almost all her muscle mass..I sit and I think of her every day but the sadness never goes away..she was only 6 and the Vet said hes only seen a few cases like hers in all the years hes been practicing…just my luck…her name was Lady…she was buff and white with the biggest beautiful brown eyes ever…she was a sweetheart…I miss her :-( Hope your Abi gets well soon:-) Love ya Brenda!

    • Of course you miss her. I still miss animals that have been gone for years. They were my babies, just as Lady was yours.
      Brenda

  14. Abi and those rocks. Do you think she was craving some mineral? Anti-depressants in humans usually take about two weeks to kick in. I have no clue about pets though. I cater to a cat all day long and an enormous puppy so I get your worry. xo, Olive

  15. Nana Diana says:

For some reason you had dropped off my reading list and I just found you again- I found several blogs today that were dropped- weird. Anyway- So sorry your baby has been sick. That is sad because they can’t tell us what is wrong. Glad you had fun at Olive Garden and I wish we had a PB here. xo Diana

  16. Everything looks so pretty Brenda! I hope Abi is feeling better! My Toby has been suffering with his back, it was so bad today he had to spend the day at the vet on IV pain meds we’ll be picking him up in a few hours. I needed a lot of tissues today!

  17. Thinking of you and your sweet fur babies. Sorry little Abi is
feeling so bad. I pray that she will soon be well. I know how
upsetting it is to have a sick little pet. They just mean so much to us!
Take care & I hope you both will be all well real soon.
I know you must be tired having to go to therapy.
    Sending you many Hugs, maki

  18. Oh, poor Abi and poor you also, I know how stressful it is when fur babies are sick. My Reggie is only 7 but has had so many medical problems, the latest being Cushing’s Disease & high blood pressure. Never heard of dogs having that! I hope the doggie Prozac helps. I also look at the Pottery Barn catalog and dream. Truthfully, though, I think your little cottage is decorated beautifully and doesn’t need any PB additions!

  19. You’ve got quite a bit of eye candy going on yourself Brenda. It is so good to see red in Christmas…it has been a little hard to find this year. Very pretty!

  20. i am so sorry about Abi. Seriously try a little pumpkin, from the can, once a day. It really helped my doggie when he had parvo. It’s good for their tummies.
Hoping the Doggie Prozac works. It worked great on my son when he was little…..not the doggie kind.
I love PB but hardly ever buy anything unless it is on sale. I love to go and just browse.
Glad you got to go to Olive Garden. My favorite restaurant.

  21. Pretty pillows!! I love PB, but not their prices. We have one of their outlets stores not too far away and I have found a couple of things there. Sorry to hear about Abi…so hoping that the doggie Prozac will help her.
    ~Cindy

  22. Your blog looks wonderful, Brenda!!!
I’m sorry your little one is feeling sickly.
It looks like your house is decked out for the holidays….LOVE it!!!

  23. Hi Brenda,
I’m glad you are continuing with your physical therapy. I hope you are seeing some good results as you perservere.

I’m glad you and Judy found each other. It’s so nice to have a close friend. You two have so much in common with your love for blogging and handmades. It’s funny…but, I really don’t like purchasing things from Pottery Barn and similar chain stores. It’s nice having home be a reflection of you and not some marketing person…a total stranger. Your home far outshines anything PB could ever come up with…re: your unique charm and sense of style, your own story, your love of color, and your furry little pets. It’s great to find contentment in the things that surround us. Your home is truly “A Cozy Little House!”
I like your pillows and yes, they do add a touch of Spring color.
Have a good day, my friend,
    Carolynn

  24. Hope Abi is feeling better soon. Yes, it’s sad to see our little furry babies not feeling well. Your pillows are lovely. Its nice to be able to whip up something that’s customized the way you want it to be. Haven’t been to Olive Garden in years. Hope you’re PT is helping you to heal. Your homes and all your little vignettes are pretty to look at.

  25. Oh, Brenda, I SO feel your pain about Abi’s not feeling well. I just can’t deal with pets being sick.

For what it’s worth, my dog Sarge has been on Prozac for about 6 weeks now, although it was prescribed for his anxiety–he didn’t have any stomach problems except that he is a hog in a mini rat terrier body. It HAS calmed him down some. He still jumps through the ceiling at the tiniest noise, but he doesn’t bark QUITE as long or loud if the door to the closet where his #1 enemy, the vacuum cleaner, is left ajar.

    I’m keeping Abi–and her mommy–in my thoughts.
