This cute little teapot has a story to tell.
If any of you find it vaguely familiar, it is because Patty, at Lemon Lane Cottage, so graciously sent me a teacup and its saucer some months ago, that just happens to match. I drooled over photos of that teacup until I found it one day on my doorstep. Thanks Patty!
This design is called “Ginger’s Window.” And inside the little tag is written: “May God open the window of Heaven for you.” And…”All things grow with love.”
I Googled all this one day and lo and behold, this teapot, brand new and still in the original box, was listed on eBay. I rushed over to see it. I was the only bidder. And I won.
The cozy little teapot was mailed to me by mid December. I waited and waited. I watched the tracking number. Then one day I saw it was in Tulsa. I couldn’t wait to get it.
It didn’t come.
I checked the tracking number the next day. And it had left Tulsa. And been sent to Baltimore! I emailed the woman from eBay. She couldn’t imagine what on earth had happened.
I was this close to having my precious little teapot!
We waited. She got in touch with Baltimore. It appeared to have been lost. It went completely off the radar on December 18. I wasn’t going to have my teapot for Christmas. If it was lost, I wouldn’t get it at all…
The day after Christmas I opened the front door to see what the weather was like. There was a box on the small porch. I picked it up and took it inside. I still didn’t know what it was.
I took it to the table and started tearing it open. My teapot! And after it’s long and arduous journey, nothing was broken!
So that is the story of the cozy little teapot…that matches the teacup and saucer…that made its way from Patty’s house to mine.
Miracles do happen.

Brenda, the same thing happened to me one year with a gift from a friend. She lives near Dallas and I’m in Houston, so she was shocked to check the tracking number on the book she’d shipped and see it had arrived in . . . Richmond, VA! Like your darling teapot, it eventually turned around and headed back to Texas for a happy ending, though. Your cup and pot are too cute for words. May you enjoy them in a much improved new year!
Its a wonderful little teapot…I am happy it found its way home…blessings
Hi Brenda,

“Taste and see that the Lord is good” Having trouble with my keyboard and I cannot get it to make a period for the end of my sentences>>>>>>>>> The teapot and cup and saucer will also go with that lovely set of dishes you recently showed with all the colours you love> >>> It is stories such as this that should be handed down in the family for your grandchildren> Holy and Blessed New Year
