Yesterday I finished four hoops. I kind of do them on an assembly line. One day I cut out all the fabric, and next I choose what elements I want to use. And so it goes.
I’ve changed my strategy of gluing the vintage images to the back fabric. Now I use pretty decorative pins and pin them on. Then you could take them off and use your own photos of family and such.
I love delving into the big jar of buttons. There’s something so childlike and fun about buttons.
I started a button board on my Pinterest. (I am really loving Pinterest these days! So much inspiration in one place.)
I think of this craft, embroidery hoop art, as something from yesteryear. The embroidery hoops, the doilies I use to create pockets, the vintage ephemera, and of course the buttons and lace I use to hang these up.
What fun it is to create! And with my new setup where I have everything in one small area, it is easy to put all the elements together.

I love the old-fashioned charm of your hoops!
Creating is raising your mood, too, Brenda, and I’m so glad of that. I hoped being homebound with the ankle wasn’t hurting too much (your spirits, not your ankle!)
Those are adorable, Brenda. Great for photos.
Oh, Brenda, I love these! Attaching the photos with a decorative pin is a great idea. I really think these will be popular in your Etsy store, I know I want one! I have lots of old black and white photos of my parents and grandparents. I also have photos of my dad in the navy during WW2 and I just thought how awesome would it be to have one of these in a nautical theme (with some anchor buttons) to display those photos! What about a romantic theme with heart buttons to display old wedding photos of ancestors? A baby theme for baby photos! Can you tell I am excited for you to make more of these?
Brenda these are charming and I like that one can change out the photos! So glad you have found a craft you can do while your ankle heals! Hugs, Linda
So very creative! Love them!!
I love your new craft! I could see a collection of these hanging on a wall with vintage family photos…
These are so very charming, will you be selling these? Take a look at the link on my sidebar for Handmade Artists. At any rate, they are eye candy and you’ve done a beautiful job inspiring us, and treating us to your talent. Thank you
ps, do you make your own doilies that you use in these?
Those are wonderful..what a neat idea!

those are adorable! I am so glad I inherited my mom’s button container. I still save buttons but they are not nearly as neat as the old buttons.
These are very cute, Brenda and a great way to use those buttons.
A very cute way to use doilies and embroidery hoops. Also love the sewing machine drawer that you have painted white and put feet on and the trim. I have to do this one! Thank you.
Hi Brenda and so nice to hear from you! Oh, these are just darling little hoop crafts! I love this and how cute they’d look hanging on a sewing room’s wall.
Roos and chicks just may be cute on the mantel.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia
Those are so pretty, and they look like they would be fun to make too!

Beautiful Brenda, I enjoy buttons too and have a collection going:)
These are so clever and pretty Brenda. I haven’t seen anything made from embroidery hoops in ages and I love your vintage spin on them. Great idea to use decorative pins to hold the pictures in place, and the buttons add so much charm:-)
Hi Brenda! I so need one of these BEAUTIFUL HOOPS!! They just look amazing! I made me a picture collage in a big old window frame with 9 big squares with different pictures I love in each square..antiqued the white old frame to look old and it is hanging in my living room and I just love looking at it..one of your hoops would look so nice next to it..please let me know when you put some in your etsy shop ok??would also make a wonderful Mothers day present!! Love ya! Carol
Brenda, the hoops are beautifully vintage! You are so productive! You have excellent time management skills. To be able to turn these out so quickly on top of posting on your blog each day is amazing!
I think they are wonderful. I like the colors, the doilies of course…and the pins. Great idea to pin, for variety, of course!
Are you planning on putting these in your shop? I bet they’d sell!

These hoops are intriguing and inviting.
Hi Brenda,
I love the vintage hoops. I have tried finding you on Etsy, and I don’t think that I am navigating it properly…I don’t know how to find your store!
Brenda–The photos we found would be great for this project. Love the pocket idea! I may have to copy you!
Hugs!
Brenda, simply beautiful – all four! Congrats, you’ve hit on a winner! They will fly off your Etsy shop!
Wow, those are adorable! Very ingenious.
I love vintage buttons…this is a really good idea and a great way to display photos. Hand work, although time consuming, is somehow comforting too. Enjoy your weekend…Ann
