Tips For Flea Market Style Storage
For me there’s hardly anything more exciting than finding something and then repurposing it into something else.
This is why antique malls, flea markets and garage sales have become such a popular source for decorators and DIYers.
I’ve always been a sucker for a wood chest. I visualize it filled with beautiful hand sewn quilts and embroidery pieces from another era.
These trunks are perfect as coffee tables. There’s lots of room inside to store winter blankets or whatever your heart desires inside.
These old wagons are striking as decor pieces. And on holidays they’d look great out on a front porch filled with holiday decor.
Some people look at this and see a frame or a painting or mirror. But there are a variety of uses.
The above chippy frame is a perfect place to clip precious post cards or antique photos.
I’ve always used the end of my bed for storage of some variety. These beautiful antique pieces give you lots of room for storage needs like quilts, blankets or pillows.
In another life, this piece was some sort of crate. And I’m sure things were shipped or stored in it.
Put wheels on the bottom and something flat on the top and you’ve got a great table that is quite unique.
There are limitless ways to use these vintage sewing machine tables. Think beverage bar, desk, end table, etc.
These pieces are rich with history and nostalgia. Someone’s grandma sat and sewed while keeping that treadle moving up and down at the bottom like I watched my great-grandma do.
Add to that a ladder, an old shelf and a vintage clock face and your space is rich with vintage style.
Now this is what I call a wall of storage! Just think of all the things you could store in those vintage filing cabinets.
Old boxes or crates have always been a hot commodity to people who love flea market style. I’ve searched for them since my twenties.
Put four together and you’ve got an end table as well as additional storage for things you like to keep near your bedside.
An old table can be used as a desk. The wooden storage piece on the wall provides a good place to store craft supplies.

Love it all, and shared on Facebook! Happy weekend, Brenda! 🙂
What wonderful storage ideas.. I really love that wagon..[Have never seen one before.. adorable.].
Thanks for sharing.
These are all awesome, Brenda! I have an old frame from a dresser mirror that was found in the attic during construction – I saved it in my garage, and you have given me inspiration for it!! I'm still not sure exactly what is going to happen with it, but that painted frame is so lovely!
You'd think that because I've always had to decorate this way that I would prefer something more traditional, but I don't. I like the miscellaneous collected look because the pieces have a story. I love this list. Thanks Brenda!

I am like you …love to find old things to use differently. And I love to paint old things. Great pics. shila
Wonderful ideas and images Brenda. I love that repurposed mirror idea, especially since I have a mirror must like the one you featured. Hope you find your wooden chest!

Beautiful photos, Brenda! My daughter has a potato wagon and yes, she uses it on the porch to decorate for holidays or just anytime. Halloween decor is especially fun with hay, scare crows, pumpkins, etc.
I learned to sew on one of those treadle sewing machines! 🙂 One of my grandmothers had one and she helped me. First time using it alone, I sewed through my index finger! LOL My dad removed the needle and had me soak my finger in coal oil. Healed perfectly!
Thank you for sharing!

Love all these great ideas for storage, and I love the old wagon.I'm sure the wagon would be a very expensive find. Thanks and have a great day. We're expecting more rain here in Mississippi but maybe your weather will be great.
I love these very creative storage ideas for some wonderfully unique pieces! I've never been lucky enough to find items such as these. I'll just have to keep looking! Happy Spring Day to you also, Brenda.
