I’m going to show, from start to finish, my first project with FrogTape. I was asked to participate in a challenge to paint a project, use FrogTape, and then review the outcome.
I took this piece of furniture I’ve had for years, that has never been painted, and gave it a go with my materials.
First Paint The Table:
First I painted it white. It took quite a few coats because the wood had never been painted. I left that to dry for a few days here in my kitchen.
FrogTape is a multi-surface, medium adhesion painter’s tape. It is designed for use on a variety of surfaces, including unfinished wood, glass, metal, carpet, and stone.
Adhering FrogTape To The Table:
I planned on creating stripes for my project, so I started out by adhering the tape where I didn’t want the paint to be.
Then I started dabbing my black paint in between the Frogtape with a foam stencil brush.
Black on white is always tricky. So I was really worried about what the outcome would be with such strongly contrasting colors.
I’m now all done with the painting. The scariest part was taking the tape off immediately.
Always in the past with other types of tape, I left the tape on until the painted object was completely dry. This time I didn’t.
FrogTape Paint Block Technology:
FrogTape is the only tape treated with paint block technology, a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint. It instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, which helps prevent paint bleed.
And I can sure say that it did what it said it would do! I love it here in my 1934 kitchen. Now that plain tabletop is striking instead of boring.
Today I added a little something to decorate the table surface to see how it would look with my new bold stripes. A black plate holder looks great with my black stripes.
“FrogTape®” is designed with a liner on the back of the tape for easier application. Just remove one half of the liner, position the tape and then remove the other half.
My Finished DIY Project With FrogTape:
I love the clean, sharp lines of the stripes!
What I liked best of all was getting the project started and finished so quickly. Definitely a DIYer’s dream come true with this tape. Because there was no waiting for the paint to dry and worrying the paint would bleed through the tape.
This was certainly a fun project!
FrogTape is available at participating Lowes and Walmart stores. As well as all Menards, Ace, Sherwin Williams, True Value, and Do It Best stores across the United States.

I had no idea that tape technology had come so far. I'll be trying the frog tape. Your paint project was a great success; your table looks great!
Cute table! Love it in your little kitchen too.
I think you'll be able to use that table just about anywhere in you home.
I've never used frog tape but keep meaning to pick some up; you know, just to have on hand for a quick project.
…love how your table turned out, Pat
Hip hip hurray for frag tape cuz you ended up with a cute table.
You did a great job, Brenda. I'll have to give it a try sometime. xo Laura
Great job Brenda. I really like the little table and it looks so nice with the black strips – gives it a personality.
Thanks so much for sharing.

What a cute little table. We used Frog tape to cover trim in the house while painting, but we still waited to remove it. I love seeing that it really works so well!
While at Haven, they gave us Frog Tape in a chevron pattern. Not sure if/when I will use it but I've got my eyes open for a potential project.
I used Frog Tape for an Ikea rug I painted. It works really well and does what it says it will do…but you already know that ;).
The table is adorable, and maybe this will give you a nudge to continue painting some more.
Brenda, I am so proud of you. Not only is it darling, you had no paint accident. Good for you girl.
Brenda, That turned out great! I love Frog Tape-it is just a wonderful product. xo Diana
Like the project. I think I'll have to try FrogTape! 🙂
I like what you have done to it, super cute…reminds me of a french linen towel..very crisp.

Love it! Makes me want to give it a whirl!
That looks great!
Brenda,
That turned out great. I've been wanting to paint the cement floor in my basement. It looks like the Fog Tape is exactly what I need. I just used painters tape on the walls in my daughters room and the paint bled through :(.
Thanks for being brave and trying it.

The table turned out great!! I'm wanting to do those grain stripes to a wood trunk that my hubby made for me many years ago.

Love this project you made! I want to paint my desk in a similar way. Glad it worked out!
Great project – perfect in your kitchen you are redoing!

I think it turned out very cute! I need to get some of this tape for sure!
I love it Brenda! Anything with those grain sack stripes is right up my alley! Gorgeous little table!

So cute. I want to do something similar with my little kitchen table. What a cute little shelf.
Great transformation, Brenda! Perfect piece for that spot.

Great transformation, Brenda! Perfect piece for that spot.

Brenda, it looks from your 'after' photos that the Frogtape painter's tape did bleed where you pulled it over the sides. Was the tape pulled over too tightly so it didn't have enough give to go down in all the 'steps' of the edge of the table or are the pictures misleading? I will try the tape at my next painting project.
The table is a fun size and shape. I just recently learned about Frog Tape and I guess I need to buy some.
I love the design and I am surprised you went with black- I like it.
