Dishes, Dogs & Fall TV Shows

Still not feeling well this morning. May just go to some 24 hour clinic today. Think I need something else to get me over the hump with this asthma that's hanging on and on.

Just look at these two snuggledy-bugs. It's been a bit cool here in the mornings. Many times they fight. Many times they play. Many times they're angry with one another. But here they are snuggled together like two peas in a pod.

Barely any leaves falling. They seem to be stubbornly hanging on. I imagine when October rolls around, which will be quite soon, they'll give up the ghost and change colors and fall.

Robins, which figure so prominently here, are a permanent fixture in Oklahoma. Barely saw them in Texas.

And those pesky squirrels are still taunting Charlie Ross. They scamper across the wires, flipping their tails up and down, and stare down at him. Full of mischief.

He groans and barks and is just miserable in general because he wants them so bad.

Thing is, if he caught one, I doubt he'd have any idea what to do with it!

The blue jays seem quite docile now. But when they have babies, look out. They dive bomb you and can cause great mayhem.

Did any of you see the new James Spader TV show that debuted Monday night? I found it very compelling, and there was never a dull moment. The plot is very complex, which adds to the drama. I think I shall have that on my fall line up. There aren't many TV shows I find worth watching.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  5. Yes! Saw the Spader show, Black List. Really liked it. First new series in a long time I thought was good. I
am looking forward to the new Blue Bloods season and waiting for Major Crimes to come back. Love the characters on both those shows.

  8. oh yeah, the Blacklist is a definite must see, we were on the edge of our seats the full hour. I was worn out by the end of the show! How long will it take before she realizes that he's her dad? duh...

  9. I just never find the time to watch television. If I sit down, I fall asleep so I am always moving. But, I love James Spader - always have.

  11. Great pics! I love the one of the robin in flight!
Do go and get something to help you feel better. Do you ever use an inhaler? I have chronic bronchitis, and use an inhaler from time to time, and it sure helps. My son in law the PharmD. says, if you having an asthma attack come on, drink some coffee, the caffeine opens up the air ways.

  13. What wonderful photos! I especially love the one of the squirrel.

We don't have cable, satellite or antenna any more so all my tv watching is through Netflix but I'm happy to hear there is still something on tv that's enjoyable. Hope you feel better soon!

  14. I'm so sorry to hear that you're still feeling terrible. I do think it would be best to go to the doctor about it. You don't want it to turn into something worse! Your dogs look so cute cuddled up together. Your outdoor pics are so good and clear. We have the same problem with squirrels taunting my dog. I have one that likes to come up on our front porch and eat my flowers. He makes a huge mess and it makes me so mad. I have to tap on the window to get him to leave and then I sick my dog after him! Hee Hee. My dog has caught a squirrel before and it was very sad. It was a young one and my dog acted very territorial about it. We had to remove the squirrel from our yard so he would leave it alone after that. I think the younger ones don't have the same instincts and speed as the older ones.

  15. The Blacklist had me hook, line and sinker. I have been a James Spader fan for a long time. I watched the Hostages, not sure if it will keep me around through the season. I saw Mom, I am not sure if I am a prude at age 47, but 22 minutes of teenage sex, alcoholics and pot...didnt really grab me as a series I will watch each week. Feel better soon, asthma is nothing to mess with.

  16. Yes, please go see a doctor so you don't get worse. Oct 1 is far away still. Watched Blacklist and couldn't believe the hour was over so soon. It was awesome. Won't give anything away for anybody that hasn't seen it yet!

  19. The doggies are adorable.

I didn't watch Blacklist. Was wondering if it was worth it. I'm not a big TV watcher ... mostly useless junk and a waste of time. I enjoy a good show, though, as long as the characters are believable and not much violence.

  20. Brenda,

That squirrel looks like he's got major attitude goin' on! Hmm. I'd keep an eye on Charlie Ross, if I were you.

Haven't watched television since the beginning of the summer. Greek television is noting to write home about. But, I will check out Blacklist online to see what it's about. Have always loved James Spader; he's such a smooth talker!

Please take care of yourself. Are you getting enough rest? You know, this time of year, with the weather changing to cooler temps, many people are affected in different ways. I, myself, have caught a bit of a stomach flu, either that or a chill, pushing myself too hard swimming in cooler water during cloudier days, trying to lose some weight. Hope you feel better soon!

PS: Love the pic of the fern, adore them, but they don't seem to like me all that much; they don't stick around too long!

  21. That little squirrel looking down at you is so darn cute! I hope that you were able to get in to see a Dr. Sooner than that Oct 1 appt.

As to the Blue Jay...you get such good pictures, Brenda. I was throwing peanuts out to them last week and they were diving in and out so quickly. I took a bazillion pictures but I will bet that I'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 that are any good...those birds are so fast!

  24. Sorry you're still not feeling well. Isn't there a free clinic in your town that you could go to that could get you started on meds?

Recorded Black List last night, we'll watch it Saturday. I also am liking Sleepy Hollow.

  27. I've just read your last 2 posts - what a disaster health care is in this country. I have faith in the new healthcare law and believe it will benefit everyone. One thing for your asthma...my doctor told me to take Guifenisen (sp?). It's the same thing as Mucinex but much, much cheaper. I get mine at Costco but you should be able to get it at drug stores. Just don't pay for the more expensive Mucinex. Be sure to drink lots of water when taking it.
