More Fall Decor Inside...

Fall in the dining room. I love the gourds you can buy. Such colorful textures. Each one a little different from the other.

I need to grow gourds. Note to self: ponder growing gourds and maybe pumpkins...

A corner of the living room. Yes, I have faux flowers this year. I don't think I could take the natural stuff from outside. Much less go out there and hunt it down. So faux it is!

I know you remember this. What I call "the glitzy lamp debacle." I could look at it for approximately two days and off to a closest that ugly lampshade went.

And it got a new one when I placed my order for supplies from Walmart.com, as I do at least once per month.

Better? And for just under $10. No shipping costs because I always wait until I am ordering over $45 worth of goods. Brought right to my door. It's been a lifesaver this past year.

I'm very thankful for all the support I got yesterday. I'm okay. Staying indoors. I found some asthma medication from a couple of years ago that I'd forgotten I had. It's helping. You all are the best! Really you are.

  1. Brenda, glad you're feeling better! Now, it's MY turn; caught a nasty draft overdoing it in the cooler temps and water of the pool, trying to burn some extra calories and instead of burning calories I got burned! Feeling quite weak, heavy headed and feverish, not to mention COLD!! Anyway, your beautiful vignettes, especially the red infused ones, (your faux flowers are fabulous, btw), have warmed my bones and distracted me from an otherwise blurry-eyed day! Take care!

  9. Brenda I am glad you are feeling a bit better...this lampshade is cute too!

I am starting to think about the LAMP itself. How does IT feel ....you are going to have to do a Velveteen Rabbit sort of story about the lamp base and how it felt with all of these changes :) it would be cute, but then again I am a nut sometimes :)

  10. I think I have that same lampshade from Walmart! It's very pretty. That is such a great way to get things since you can get them delivered to your door for free. Your Fall décor is very pretty. You're ahead of me. I haven't done anything yet. I went to Walmart today hoping to find some pansies for my front porch planters, but they didn't have a good selection. So, I think I'm going to go somewhere else tomorrow. It's supposed to be very pretty tomorrow. So glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better. This time of year, my allergies will start to kick in, so I will have to have some medicine on hand too. I'm a medicine hoarder for fear I may need something one day too.

  11. Oh I'm so glad you are feeling better today Brenda! Your faux flowers look lovely and the new shade is adorable. I've transformed some shades myself and then I look at them and think 'what was I thinking?' but your's looks cute, surely not closet material. Have a good evening.

  14. Glad you're feeling and breathing better. My fall allergies have been pretty bad, but I'm so glad I don't have asthma (unless I'm in the company of Labradors - I'm highly allergic to them!). For what it's worth, I happened to really like your glitzy lampshade! :-)

  18. You have so many pretty touches. I love the new lamp shade. Could you possibly jazz up (or tone down) the old one on the lace section with a little "antiquey" brown dabbed on with a dry brush? You know I'm not crafty at all but I used to paint in watercolors and oils and I was pretty good at fixing mistakes! lol!

I'm so glad you feel better, I checked out the meds I still have last night and they expired 2/12...Not good! Stay inside, don't exert yourself, caffeine is super good at dilating the bronchial tubes, so go for it, the stronger the better. I hope I haven't been overbearing...I just love ya girl!!

    XO,
    Jane
