Principles Of Feng Shui

The home decor choices that you make might have a bigger impact than you think. Those who follow the ancient Chinese practice of Feng shui believe that the home decor choices that you make invite certain energy into your house that then follow you into other areas of your life. For example, the items in your kitchen are connected to the wealth and prosperity in your life. Adding live, colorful plants, this can help bring more prosperity into your life.

There are many aspects to Feng shui, it's been around for thousands of years and keeping up with all the different rules is a bit confusing. Thankfully, this handy infographic below brought to us by Soothing Walls, provides an easy template to follow. Check out some of the tips below and see if Feng shui can make a difference in your life.

  1. I think Feng shui is very interesting, but to be honest I just decorate with what I like and hope for the best. :)

  2. I got a book on it from the library a few years ago and had a lot of fun trying to incorporate some of the principles. I have to admit that some things I just could not change even though I was supposed to, like a mirror that faced the front door. The mirror is still there! One of my sisters has seriously tried to make her house be more according to the guides and says many of them are common sense things that she likes so much. Basically, some good design principles involved here.

I like the simple diagrams you've used here as it can be complicated.

  6. I tried this years ago and it drove me nuts. I still think about starting all over and learning it again when I get a chance. I have done a few feng shui things in our rooms, but not alot.
