Yvonne From The Yvestown Blog

Did you know that after 7 years of blogging, Yvonne simply started over. A remarkable thing, really, because how do you let that much of your life go? I suppose she just wanted a fresh start.

"You may wonder where all the contents of my blog has gone to. After 7 years of blogging, moving home and several blog makeovers I started to loose interest. On the first of January 2012 I started all over, I need a blank canvas to work on."

She went to Wordpress.org, but after a time, was not satisfied and a bit restless. Then she went to Squarespace, where she remains.

(Her About Page)

My name is Yvonne Eijkenduijn. I live with Boris (who I affectionately call Bo) our cat, Boo Boo (sounds in Dutch like oe oe not oo oo, Yogi Bear's buddy) and 3 buff hens, in an old gentleman's house from 1896 in Lommel, Belgium very close to the Dutch border.

I'm currently busy to change the house to an old ladies home replacing a lot of brown with pink and white, my two favourite colours. I was born and raised in The Netherlands but since my late teens I've lived in America, England, Suriname and now in Belgium.

I've decorated quite a few homes, raised 12 kittens, fell in love only three times and baked a lot of cakes.

I am a blogger, a photographer, a cook and a person who talks a lot with her hands.

“I try to live each day like freshly shaven legs under clean sheets.”

Her love of muted pastels is everywhere. Still, she keeps the blend lively.

Her home reminds me of dyed Easter eggs.

And then there's the chickens and garden to tend to as well.

Cooking healthy food.

Made by this hunk-a-hunk-a-burning-love. And look...

I love her wall magazine storage. And her simple rustic table.

The Yvestown Blog is a blog that beckons you to come back for another visit, and I always will.

  1. Oh....love her style...of course...have now added her blog to my list to read each day!

  2. Brenda, you find the most interesting bloggers! Such a unique personality. I love how she combines her colors and patterns. The stack of patterned boxes is so pretty. The chickens are so cute!

  3. I kind of like the idea of starting over. I think after that many years of blogging it would get stale. Although with all of her moves, she must be used to change. Gorgeous photographs!
