Introducing Java Talk

February 18, 2014

A reader mentioned that they'd like to see a discussion on our coffee brands and habits after I did that post the other day on coffee stations. I'd been thinking of doing something like this for some time. So let's just go for it.

While it's winter outside and we're warming our bodies with coffee, let's just dish on coffee, shall we?

I'll ask some questions, and you can answer the ones you want the way you want to get our discussion going. Please wait and leave your answers on tomorrow morning's post.

1. When did you start drinking coffee?

2. What is your most liked coffee maker?

3. Are you a connoisseur of fine coffee, or are you a regular old Folgers type?

4. What is your favorite coffee flavor?

5. Do you grind your own beans?

Okay, that should get us going. Tomorrow I'll put up a Java Talk post and I want you to comment there, all right? I'm just giving you some questions to mull over now. We can discuss while we have our morning coffee!

And tell me what we could dish about next week. All suggestions appreciated!

  3. I've been watching the Jerry Seinfeld online videos called "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee." Even if you don't like the comedians featured, you'll love all of the coffee drinking that goes on!

  4. As much as I have tried to drink coffee, I just can't stomach it. Nor, do I drink tea. I'm a plain water kind of girl I guess!!!

  8. This sounds like fun! You inspired me the other day to bring out the old Kuerig I put away because it takes up too much room!

  9. Never liked coffee until I was a junior in college. The professor in a food preperation course demonstrated how to make it without boiling it which causes the bitter taste from tannin. Now I add a little sugar and cream. I do not like sweet tea. When I did student teaching the teacher challenged me to drink a little less sugar every day. There was only one day that I wanted more sugar. After that I stopped adding sugar. That was in 69.

  10. I'm late to java talk, but I love coffee!!
1 started drinking coffee when I was about 12. So that's over 50 years!
2 favorite coffee makers - an old Mr. Coffee and my new Keurig.
3 favorite coffees - Community Coffee, Dunkin Donuts and Gevalia.
4 I am a picky coffee drinker - I do not like weak coffee, blech. Strong, with no sugar, no creamer.
5 I used to grind my own beans, but my grinder has been broken and I haven't replaced, so just buying preground right now.
