  5. Happy 4th of July, Brenda. We have just finished feasting on shrimp and Maryland blue crabs, potato salad and baked beans.. We're going to have key lime pie later..
Everyone has gone to their favorite resting place so I will enjoy your new "blogsters" today..
We had quite a storm last night and the kitties were frightened.. I don't know how it will be tonight with the fireworks.

We are hoping to be in and out of our apartment within the 6 month lease, but we are prepared to renew. We are putting our home on the market. We need to be here at our home most of the time due to insurance rules. The plan is to use the apartment on a limited basis. Just a landing place to refuel, so to speak. The apartment is in a gated community, built about 12 or 14 years ago. We've always liked the community of homes. It is one of the planned communities in the St Louis area. Eldest daughter and her husband chose a plan from the community but they are building it at another location. We found a 2 bedroom cottage plan we like and would like to stay in the same community where we have leased the apartment.

It is a patio apartment, in a sort of condo set up. We don't mind people overhead. We had that with our lake place. They have excellent maintenance and other staff. Lots of things for the grandkids to do. We are on the same walkway as the tennis courts and a small play ground is just up the walkway.

I won't be painting or adding anything since it is temporary. However, if we like living there, we might try to buy a condo or villa or the cottage I spoke of.

There is an alcove with washer dryer behind folding doors. The same set up as our condo. There is a desk in the alcove as well. Parking is out front and we added a carport to our lease. If we stay through Winter we may rent one of the garages. We didn't think it was necessary to do that over the Summer. We are using minimum furnishings because we don't want to double move any more than we need to.
This is closer to our children and grandchildren and our physicians. With J having Parkinson's Disease, Cardiovascular disease and now Diabetes, we have lots of visits to our doctors. This gets us within reasonable driving distance. That is why we would like to build there, when the house sells.
It's a gorgeous community. We are very pleased with the decision we made. It is something we've wanted to do for awhile and decided to do it this year as soon as our health improved. I am much better than I was over Winter so we began formulating the plan late Spring.
We are getting rid of a lot of furniture. I'm going for lighter hues, but not the all white look. There will be color. I am having fun with this little temporary home. There is a pub around the corner, we like and had lunch there again, the other day. It's several miles from where we are now, but we know the area very well. Jim's grandparents lived in that vicinity and he grew up visiting them there. We are very familiar with roads and back roads.

  11. Thank you an awful lot for featuring me, I feel truly honored!
