Random Rainy Day Pics

These are all random pics I took this week. We had lots of rainy weather.

I didn't think the hostas would bloom again since they bloomed in spring. But they surprised me.

Before morning glories bloom, they look like scrunched up fists.

This morning glory had had so much rain that it bowed its head under the downpour.

I made brownies in my new Breville convection oven. When they came out they looked so good I stood at the counter and ate about a third of them with a spoon. Right out of the pan.

I'd never done that before. Figured it was time I did something so decadent.

I've been asked many times about what fertilizer I use, and I don't use any. My dogs do a lot of fertilizing for me.

  4. My favorite photo of the day is your blue and white porcelain, so nice... My old dog keeps trying to fertilize the living room, it doesn't help it grow much. (insert mad face here)

  5. Beautiful pictures! Your brownie story made me giggle. I am notorious for eating the chocolate chip cookie dough and baking maybe a dozen cookies. Life's too short, may as well enjoy the moment! Enjoy your Sunday!

  8. Love the first picture, it's so serene. The pictures of the pupsters in the garden is cute! They are so loving this patio now! So wonderful to have a safe place for them to play and relax. It rained here last night, so exciting, and the earth felt so good! It was a quick shower, but I'll take it!

    1. Abi just decided if there wasn't much lawn, she'd just take the pots. They were trained to flower beds in the first place.

  9. Love all the photos! Ashleigh made brownies last night and they are soft so she has been able to eat them. We both had a couple of pieces they were so good and so chocolaty! Hope you have a good Sunday!

    1. When I first got them in 2006 I didn't have grass, just flower beds. That's where they learned to go potty.

  11. How I miss being able to grow hostas.
They have such a classic, serene look about them.

  12. I sure do wish we'd get some nice gentle rain for about two days. Parts of my yard has big cracks in the earth.. My zinnias aren't blooming yet either.. I watered this morning.. I have to put long pants on to keep my legs mosquito free.
Your pictures are lovely except the one of Charlie (I think) and that is cute.. I guess "if ya gotta go, ya gotta go".
Your brownie making and eating sounds delish ! I'm glad you have the convection oven.
I've made your beef/mushroom soup dish about four times now.. My family loves it.. I cooked fresh green/string beans and red potatoes to go with it. YUM !
    Have a great week ahead.

  15. When you first moved I was wondering how well your pups adapted from going potty in a grassy yard to a patio? Also I was thinking about how they loved to sit in front of your window at your blue house and watch the world go by. It appears that they can't do that in your new place so do they now sit and look out at your patio?

  18. Really felt the rainy day mood in your pics, today, and welcome all the cozy activities, since we've had extremely high temps and no rain is on the horizon until November!! Bet those brownies were delish!

  19. We have been getting lots of rumbles of thunder, but very little rain. Supposed to be sunny all day today, but once again the clouds have rolled in and I hear the thunder. Glad you stood and ate the brownies. Sounds like fun. xo Laura

  20. No rain here but I like that it gave you an excuse to take some pretty pictures! Those brownies look so good...I'm craving them now!

I love the idea of the dogs doing fertilizing for you. Mine will go anywhere but the flower beds, they love to lay in them! Like they are in their very own jungle! lol!

Hope you're off to a good week. I woke up to the mess from a weekend of not lifting a finger. Ugh.
