Beginning Stages Of My Cottage Boho Look

With one purchase, I have begun my Cottage Boho look in the living room. Hopefully tomorrow I can go out and get paint from the Ace Hardware just blocks down the road.

Then the fun begins.

I have chosen colors from this quilt, which I got for a fantastic price at Joss & Main (quilt + 2 matching shams = $69)!

And now I will use the oldest strategy for cheap change in decorating. Paint.

I will show you how you can take one element (in this case, a quilt) and build your whole look around it with paint).

You're going to see my same furniture in an array of new colors. A budget redo. Stay tuned. More later...

  1. I adore that quilt! I especially love the section above the couch (turquoise, red print, and buttery yellow)--I could do a lot of decorating with those colors! I can't wait to see what you do! Be careful not to overwork yourself though... .

  2. Brenda, I am so excited to see what you do!! I love the Boho look! My apartments don't allow us to paint (WHAT???), so I have to make do with beige walls!! I always look to you for some new, but inexpensive, trick to re-do your space, sans paint. Thanks for all you do in putting out your blog posts. They are a light in the darkness!

  29. I have finally figured out what is so appealing about you. You are multi-talented. You do everything well. You write, you express yourself, you decorate, you photograph, you save....and you share - openly and generously! The pupsters look borderline bored though - "Yeah, yeah yeah, we know our mom's decorating again. She takes good care of everything around here - (yawn!).
