Start Garden Seeds Early This Way

If you want to start garden seeds early and don't have a greenhouse, this is an excellent way to do it. On the very, very cheap!

It's a little later than this man started his. But if nothing else, I shall remember this for next year.

I need to go through my Seed Savers Exchange catalog anyway. Because I do not have the indoor gardening lights or enough windows to start seeds inside.

Check it out!

  1. I have never started plants from seeds before. I guess I'm not patient enough. I think it would be a great way to save money though and fun to do with kids.

  2. Such a clever way! We are recovering from our winter storm and with snow and icy everywhere, I'm hoping spring comes fast!! This is a great way to get a head start.

  3. I just bought a ton of seeds, so I'll head over and take a look :)

I'm so glad you got to spend time with you daughter and your grand baby. It's sounds like you had a great time.

  4. Holy cow! I can hardly believe that would work in our area with the deep freezes we get! I think I might give it a try though....all I could lose is a pack of seeds, right? That is amazing if it would work here. xo Diana

  6. Yes, that's one way, isn't it! Someone I saw had used those big clear boxes that lettuces come in. I've thrown away so many of those. They would have been perfect for starting seeds. I'll need to remember these ideas for next year!

  9. Thanks for sharing the links. I will start saving those lettuce boxes that Judy mentioned. I'll enjoy looking through the seed catalog, too. Can't wait to see something growing!
