Stolen Blog URL Update

A reader just told me that this blogger in Italy has also taken over my Bloglovin feed. I found her blog. It is called Bad Style.
http://chiaralimatola.blogspot.com/

Here she is on Bloglovin.

A photo from her blog:

So for all intents and purposes, unless this is a guise, this is the person who has taken my traffic and somehow directed my URL to her blog from my blog that I have worked very hard on for years.

This is causing me to lose revenue and a world of trouble because my blog URL is somehow going to her blog above. She has taken over so many accounts. So far I've found her disguised as me at: Bloglovin, Twitter, BlogTopSites, blog rolls, and no telling where all else.

If you see my Cozy Little House and her blog on it (seems to be in small letters), please notify me immediately!

  1. As a community of bloggers, what can we do to help??

  2. I just don't know. I'm so frustrated I could scream. I guess watch out for her and tell me when she's taken over something else. I see she's also blogging at fashiontoast.com

  3. What a slime ball! Why can't people earn their own? I'm adding a snippet on my sidebar to try to help. We both know that my little dinky blog won't help much, but I'll do all I can! So sorry this is happening... :( Let me know if there is anything else I can do!

    1. You don't have a dinky blog, Heather! You have a great blog and you work hard at it, just as I do.

  5. I really don't know. I'm not sure how that works with the ads I'm using now. But I thank you so much for your support and kindness!

  6. I've read a few times about this happening to bloggers and I've noticed it too. What is the point of someone stealing your blog url? I don't understand.

    1. Well, here's what I think, but I don't know. I first noticed it on BlogTopSites. You can go down my sidebar all the way and click it. Today I am #26. I am often in the top 30 of our genre. I can't get them to change my update on their site, so if you go there, you will see it is blank. Others are as well. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But if it's blank, no one would recognize it. So if someone hacks into a blog URL that is in, say, the top 30, they know they're going to get traffic. Because that's usually on the front page of where people look for blogs in that genre, and can then click out from BlogTopSites to the blog they choose to check out. So somehow she fixed it where they click on me and go to her.

  7. Oh, no! Why do people do these things! I'm so sorry and it's a shame nothing seem to help to keep people from doing this.

    1. For my traffic. I can't think of any other reason than to take my traffic from me and put it on her blog.

  8. This is a really crappy thing to do to any blogger! We work hard at building our blogs and this should be illegal. Who do you report this stuff to? How can I help?

    1. I've reported it to every place I've found her hijacking my blog URL. But things grind slowly. I haven't heard from any of them. However, on Twitter you can see that she's tweeted, but they've erased the page that it goes to. So I've contacted Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, BlogTopSites and Bloglovin. She's going to take all my revenue away from me if she gains my traffic. And that's got me wringing my hands and wanting to wring her neck.

  9. Brenda, this is appalling!!! My goodness, I feel for you, my friend. Here I was with one post 'hacked', and she's taken so many of your online projects!! How horrible! Read your reply to Jemma's question, and I will definitely keep a lookout!

Please email if there's anything I can do to help.

  10. for Bloglovin at least, there is a contact for support.
Report her. It is in Bloglovin's interest too, that this is sorted out.

    1. Oh, as soon as one of you let me know today that she was on Bloglovin too, I contacted them on their form. You can see my posts there and hers. She seems to be putting Cozy Little House as cozy little house. Don't know if that matters.

  11. This is nothing short of theft! Oh yes, contact Bloglovin and hopefully they can stop her in her tracks at least on their site. I will keep my eyes open.

    1. It is theft. But I don't know any laws against stealing one's traffic. She is impersonating herself as me on my blog URL, but it redirects to hers. How do they manage these things? How did she redirect my blog URL to go to her site?

  13. That's awful, Brenda, I am so sorry. She is just hacking into all of your social media accounts and redirecting your URL to her site and I agree with Betsy, it is theft. Bloglovin is usually pretty quick with their response time. I hope they get back to you ASAP with some help and correction of the redirect. I read somewhere that once the redirect is corrected, you should either delete your account or change your password right away...

  16. I am trying to catch up on blogs today. I hadn't seen a post from you but I have been online so little. I hope she can read our comments. It's just like when people steal money from hard working people. Why don't they get a way to earn their own money. She will get caught somehow. I am so sorry. I hope somehow this gets corrected. If there is anything I can do, please tell me.

  19. You can't appeal to the conscience of these people because they don't have one. If they did, they wouldn't be doing this. Sadly, this type person is becoming more and more prevalent. There needs to be some way to prosecute these criminals.

  24. I'm totally befuddled by this whole thing. I was raised to be honest (and I appreciate that fact!) and I have no idea how these kind of prople can live with themselves. I do know that I've taught many students over the last few years who are being taught by their parents to take/steal whatever they can from whomever they can. It is a changing world we live in.

And yo think that just the other day you were apologizing to us about adding that 'Read' button/click to increase your clicks. Now we know why your readership was down!

I'm not a blogger, just a reader of blogs. An extra click is nothing to ask of me when it has allowed me the privilege of meeting you as a new friend. I'm sorry to say I haven't got any tech savvy knowledge to help you out but do know that I care!

    Keep us posted.

  26. I just don't understand how she did this. How could she steal your URL? I guess I am too technically challenged but I just don't understand how this is done. I will tell you something that I find very strange ~ she looks quite a bit like the woman who told those lies last fall and made my life miserable. Odd isn't it?

  28. Oh my Brenda. I guess I am like Susan above, in that I am not tech savvy enough to know how one could do this...or how to prevent it for all of us to know. I agree with you...it seems she would want to hack a fashion blog for readers. Wow. I am just a small little blog. But I will help as I can...click, read, and keep an eye out for you. Good luck Brenda! Sheila

  29. I follow you through bloglovin and have never had a problem ...I'm sorry you are having these struggles but thank you for sharing..as a small blogger I wouldn't even begin to know what to do... here's hoping you can get this settled soon

  30. This is a travesty! I am so sorry. I am just a blog reader...but if there is anything I can do....please let all of us know. Seems like the Internet is the Wild Wild West...and there are no laws. This is so wrong! ;)

  31. I'm at a loss for words. Almost. This makes me so mad!

Brenda, do you belong to any Blogger support groups on Facebook? Maybe someone out there can help you to figure out what you, and we as a community, can do to stop this bitch.

  32. Oh my gosh Brenda! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this. I wish there was something I could do to help. If I see any weirdness, I'll let you know.

For what it's worth, I follow you on Bloglovin' and it's coming through perfectly, so at least your original feed is still there.

    Good luck!!

  33. This is the weirdest and most twisted thing! Thanks for sharing the process with us so we'll be aware!

  34. Brenda, I'm among those who feel at a loss understanding how it would be possible to fight this. I'm glad you are doing everything you know how to fix it, if that's possible.

This is probably a stupid question, but is there no way to file a legal complaint with her local authorities, being that it is theft? If someone in OK was pirating your blog, would there be a way for a judge to order a stop to it?

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It takes all kinds of very strange people in this world, doesn't it? You just wonder what is wrong with people? Did you go into your extensions and check to make sure she is not authorized there? That is where I found my "thief".. Good luck- xo Diana

  36. Brenda, just took at that site and dont quote me but I think she has also taken one of your plant/garden shots, at least it looks like one of yours! I wonder why someone would go to all this trouble to do this? I wish also I could think of something you could do to stop this happening!!!

  37. I don't understand how she is doing it ? As in, if I type in your URL in google or come from my blog list, I come here...how is she stealing yours in some places ...? Crazy!

  39. That is just weird and unnerving! I have people who scrape my site and put my whole blog on their site (I think I may have to start truncating my feed for that), but I guess that's fairly common. You're the first that I've heard of them hijacking you. I wonder if truncating your feed would help or if they have some other way into your blog? What about changing your feed to feeblitz instead of feedburner? There's got to be some way you can stop her or him or whoever.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Brenda this is horrible! She is stealing your lively hood also! I know you rely on ads for income also. I hope this can be fixed. I am so tech ignorant but I am hoping someone can help you.

    ReplyDelete
  41. That's so horrible and odd! She's impersonating you and that's identity theft. Although I don't see how she's hijacking your url since your url and all SM urls go to your blog. I don't have her on your bloglovin feed? Anyway, what a mess! Hope you find a way to resolve this. So sorry!!

  43. Brenda, I read my blogs first that show on my chosen ones that I joined. Well 2 hours ago I thought it was strange b/c you posted something about Winter Tables......so I clicked it and it was empty. That happens with a few blogs out there, so then i go to HOME and find your new post.

I wonder if it is connected somehow.

    Thought you should know,

I don't have a bit of ladylike comments to this nasty stealing. I hate it for you and hope to heaven you can figure it out. It isn't cool at ALL.

  45. It's a sad world we live in.....I hope you have resolved this.

  46. Okay, because I've only been around a few months, I have no idea how one steals a blog. Can you email me some information on this so that I can be aware and I would love to post a link on my blog back to this post, if that is okay? What a horrible thing to do to someone!!!

  47. I checked and when I click from my blog to yours it's still you. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this.
