Bouquets From The Garden

Sometimes I will get a mason jar and go outside, strolling around the container plants, looking to see what's bloomed.

I find this to be a really relaxing endeavor. Just walking about, enjoying the view. Listening to the birds up in the trees.

The dogs will do their normal sniffing around, as dogs do when they go outside.

I take my clippers, and choose some blooms.

It's not a fancy bouquet I end up with. But the perfume is heady and the many colors make me happy.

And I end up with something like this to enjoy indoors for a few days, while the plants outside gather their energy to create more blooms.

Sometimes I take the mason jar lid and put a votive candle in it, and light it up, just for the satisfaction of it.

And enjoy the view in my little apartment. Where the simple life is always the best life I could dream of.

I'm an introvert... I love being by myself, love being outdoors, love taking a long walk with my dogs and looking at the trees, flowers, the sky. - Audrey Hepburn

  1. Such a pretty vignette! I think that cutting flowers to enjoy is one of the greatest reasons for growing them. Enjoy those beautiful blooms. Looks like a relaxing spot to unwind... and read a book! Speaking of - I've taken your advice, and I am starting a book today. I'm determined!

  7. That's lovely Brenda. Do you know what I can do about all the snails in my yard? They are eating my flowers and I want them to go bye bye.

    1. I've got the darned things too. Only way I know of is to pour beer into bowls or buckets or whatever and leave out and let the little uglies go for it.

  8. Your flowers are so very pretty. Yours must be ahead of mine, here in southwest Virginia. You can take the simplest thing and make it so neat and interesting. I too have to have my alone time.

Isn't it nice to know that Audrey Hepburn was an introvert too? I'm glad to be in her company.

  20. Very sweet bouquet, Brenda. Great quote. If it's true that we introverts don't live as long as very social folks, I don't care! :O) I find enjoying solitary pursuits highly fulfilling. Bess

  28. It's perfect. I hope to have a few flowers this year. Maybe I can cut a few. I planted a pot today with caladiums and a potatoe vine. Couldn't find anything flowering to go with it. Maybe next time.
