Modern Furniture Shopping

This is a sponsored post...

As many decorator-types are these days, I'm looking seriously at the retro modern look. I wouldn't have liked it, say, 3-4 years ago. But our tastes change. They evolve.

So I found this mid century modern furniture website where everything is shipped free! Can't beat that.

And since I may or may not be moving to smaller quarters one of these days, I decided to play shop

I'll take you with me on a little tour.

This very unusual chandelier doesn't take up any floor space, so that's not an issue here. I really like the look of it, as I'm not much for the frou-frou girly-type chandeliers.

Yes, I think that one would suit me mighty fine! It kind of reminds me of a flower opening up.

An Italian leather red love seat. If I didn't have room for my couch/chaise, this would work. Love seats are great for small spaces.

I've been kind of missing reds, so you will definitely be seeing more red decor in my future.

If you don't have much room for a dining space, how about this little piece of lovely? Wouldn't take up much room and it's so cute! Just look at those curves.

Found this cute yellow chair that would work with that tulip table. But I'd go all out and have one yellow...

...and one RED!

Now wouldn't that look snazzy and upbeat? I've always liked red and yellow combined.

How about this modern coffee table? I like the lines of it. And just think of all the cute vignettes you could arrange on that long rectangular top.

I believe this cutie is called "The Sinatra Sofa." And I can see why. Love the shade of blue. And I can see Old Blue Eyes lounging with his legs crossed talking to the ladies.

Nearly everything comes in various colors, by the way. No hassle returns, and they have a five year warranty! And the free shipping really grabs you.

I took a liking to this bench. Tuck it somewhere, or use it for a coffee table even. And then when company comes calling, you've got extra seating!

Ooh la la for a new office chair! Sleek lines. Feminine and elegant.

And if you don't have room for an actual coffee table, how about these little stools instead?

If you wanted to really make an impact and have the room, you could scoot them close together and put a piece of glass on top.

Lucite furniture visually takes up no room. You could use it at your desk, and it would almost be like nothing was there!

I love this lamp. Tall and black and chic. Got that tulip-look going on too. And I really like the shiny shade. I like shiny!

Here's a classy chair I could live with. It's got that tweed look, with modern shiny legs. Looks comfy too. And if you don't like it, automatic returns!

I can just see this angled up to some bookshelves where I sit and thumb through books, trying to decide on my next read. Or sitting and having a cup of coffee, gazing out the window.

Speaking of gazing... last, but certainly not least, I'd just love this mirror. It would really make a statement on the wall.

So what do you think? Which of these pretties would you choose?

This is the company...

You can order color swatches too.

You can find them here.

  1. These pieces aren't my style at all, but I can easily see them fitting in beautifully with your Boho look!
    Take one of each!!! ;)

  2. I love all of these pieces, Brenda, especially those red and yellow chairs! I think that mid-century modern is a very versatile style and can be worked in with many other styles. Thanks for introducing us to IFN Modern.

  3. They don't look very comfortable for long term sitting. Give me something with some cushion. As I get older I need that. The first light fixture that you showed, can you imagine cleaning that? These are just my ideas. I like what you have now. It's COZY!

  4. What fabulous items! My problem is I truly love a bunch of different decor styles, from Shabby Chic to Mid-Century Modern. I love rooms in shades of white, I love rooms full of color. I just love it all.

Brenda, IMO your style is colorful and I think you can mix together any and all styles with your colors unifying them.

  5. The mirror is fabulous! I also love the "ghost" chair, I just wish I had a place for it but if I bought one that would mean the problem of getting rid of something else. Nothing I have seems to sell on Craig's List, unfortunately.

  6. I also like too many styles of decorating..I have always said that if I ever win the big lottery I am going to have a home with every room decorated in a different huh???..Love the tulip really needs the yellow and red chairs..

  7. I don't think I would like a full house done in retro but a piece here and there would be nice. I like the look of a "mix". Those furniture pieces would certainly keep your home from looking too cluttered with their clean lines huh?

  8. I could not decorate with all modern pieces, but an accent piece mixed in with my style might be nice. I like the classy chair but I'd like it with a wood frame and legs instead of the chrome. The tweed fabric is gorgeous.

  9. I've never cared for Mid-century modern, not even in the mid-century! I love how your house in Texas looked, and I am sorry you ever had to leave it, or that you ever changed your style. I miss red.

  10. I've been shopping for a bench recently that I can tuck beneath the table that I have in my home office. Also have been searching the internet for a white office chair similar to the one you have shown. These are great pieces. I was in love with mid century modern styled rooms for a while, but everyone has been showing these styes the past few years, entire rooms done in mid century modern, and to me they have a cold, stiff look about them. I do love one or two pieces in a room though, my eclectic home... xo

  11. Mid Century Modern is by far my favorite design. The Sinatra Sofa is to die for! My home used to be more of a cottage style but over the last few years I've finally been able to change to the mid century modern and absolutely love it. Thank you for sharing! I can see many of these pieces fitting in with your design.

  12. One of my best friends has decorated her entire house in mid-century modern and would love most of the things you picked out. I keep trying to get her to let me photograph her house, but no go, so far.

I like to look at it, but I couldn't live with it everyday. Now, give me a vacation house in Palm Springs and I'd be right there with you ;)

  13. I just love these pieces!! So gorgeous! We've talked of how we would decorate if we ever owned a "mid-century" house. Our dining table and TV console were purchased with just that décor style in mind. We can transition them just by changing out a few things and they would work in any space.

I always enjoy reading your comments and having you join the conversation here at Cozy Little House. It is like having a gathering of friends sitting in my cozy apartment. Enjoying coffee and dessert, chatting and having a good time. I appreciate each and every one of you!
