Decorating Around A TV

I told you I had Israel bring my TV out of the closet to put in the living room. I've been working, little by little on decorating the wall behind it.

I've also been working on the opposite wall, but I'm not quite ready to show you that yet.

This is a compilation of photos I've taken myself, and prints I've picked up.

You might recall the long beige shabby chic frame. It had a rose print in it.

I found this print with bluebonnets at Hobby Lobby on sale half price.

It fits better with this theme.

But don't worry. The rose print is safe and sound on the back of this poster should I ever want to use it again.

I don't know why I haven't been framing my own photos before now.

There are shadows on these from the light. You probably recall me showing these photos. I just sent them to Walgreens to be processed into 5x7 and 8x10 enlargements.

This is another poster from Hobby Lobby. The print was half off, and so was the frame. It was a great deal!

This beat up shutter is from the Restore. I found the cow and the clock at my favorite of antique malls in Jenks.

Got the cow for a song. The clock is a Pottery Barn clock. Quite heavy. I just love it.

So I did a gallery wall around my TV. In farmhouse style.

  8. I love it!! That's what I need to do. But I don't have your knack for putting things together like that. I love, love, love that long print with the barn....oh my gosh, that one just stole my heart straight away!

    1. You just need to find a starting space and then go around it. I typically center the first pic, then go outwards from there.

  12. Wow, this might be the best display yet. It's so well-arranged that the dark TV screen comes across as part of the plan. I'm so glad you thought of using your photos, and it makes me think that you need to print up a bunch and offer them for sale to your readers. They'd look great in our houses too!

  15. When I first looked at your picture of the wall I didn't even SEE the TV so what you did was a success, it disguised the TV perfectly.

  18. Looks great Brenda! I love how the pictures camouflage the TV so that it's not the focal point... Was that your plan or was that a surprise?! I will chalk it up to your design talent! :) Enjoy the weekend. ~julie

  22. I love your gallery wall, you always manage to inspire me! And you are a woman after my own heart, you like changing things up just like I do. I cannot live with everything always the same, it gets boring. I want to experience a lot of different moods for my rooms. Wish you lived closer gal, we would be besties!

  25. A television can be troublesome to decorate around but you have made it look easy. The newer tvs don't have that large "frame" around them so they are not so in-your-face. Your photographs are definitely frame-worthy.
