How To Create A Home Office In A Small Space

Here is a small space office in an apartment using mid-century furnishings. They are using the corner of a room, but the space they've carved out is quite efficient.

Apartment Therapy featured this small apartment office. As you can see, it is part of this apartment dweller's living space.

This little office is quite small. It takes up a very small area in this home.

Centsational Girl created an office in a computer armoire.

The DIY Playbook created a small office in a corner of a bedroom.

Design Sponge featured this home with a tiny office space at the end of a couch.

This apartment dweller made use of the window sill to create a small office. Very clever!

Not everyone has a designated room for an office. Which means these individuals have to get creative and carve out a space in the square footage they currently live in.

More and more people are working from their homes and live in small dwellings or apartments. They may run a home business from wherever they happen to live.

No matter where you live, I imagine there's a way to create a small office space for yourself.

Which is your favorite small office space? Do you have an office in a small space in your home?

  1. Brenda, I love the second one you featured where the homeowner was using a part of the living area as an office space. I have a small office space in a guest bedroom, which works really well for me! Pam @ Everyday Living

  4. I think this is one of your greatest posts. What wonderful ideas. I myself presently use a breakfast bar for a spot for my computer and house my office supplies in a nearby buffet. But after I move I will need to figure out something different and I will be referring to this post for ideas. Thanks!

  5. I love the amount of surface area is photo #2, but love the notion of shutting it all away as in photo #4! Thanks for these photos which show it really is possible to create an attractive work area, unlike my current drab set-up. Thanks.

  6. I adore the windowsill office!!!! That's just so cute, and inspiring as well. The only spot I can see to create an office in my living space upstairs is next to the fireplace on one side or the other....but I'm staring at a wall, and I don't think that would work for me!! Someday....right now, however, I am working with my laptop propped on my lap in my chair in the living room. Which is ok....but not ideal. Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Unfortunately, there is a "no more back pain" ad that covers half of the screen. I cannot make it go away. Was the same way yesterday. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

  10. Thank you so much! I enjoy your posts and seldom encounter a problem with an ad. I am definitely not complaining about the ads - just the location of that one.
