My Candy Cane Tree
I call this my candy cane tree. It’s all done up in red and white. I just finished decorating it.
It can be seen from inside and outside on the back patio, which is nice. It sits next to my little pantry in my small dining area.
Well, it seems it also serves as a perfect container to hold my little candy cane Christmas tree.
I didn’t realize I would end up going with a “theme” for my tree until I was well underway in decorating. It just kind of happened.
That’s how I do much of my decorating. I just start and somehow it evolves.
Because I love the combination of red and white so much, I decided it was a perfect color theme for my tree.
I decorated the tree with red and white candy canes and a variety of red and white ornaments.
I tied the ornaments on the tree branches with jute. I’d rather tie them on than use ornament hooks from the store. First, they stay on better. And second, I think it looks better.
I love the way the tree lights glows at night. I also love the way it is reflected in the patio glass door. And the way the colored bottles outside can be seen as well.
I consider my patio space also living space. I like to enjoy my decorating from both inside and outside. I can do that with my candy cane Christmas tree up against the patio doors.
I love your tree and its candy cane decor!
Looks beautiful Brenda!! I'm jealous because I can't put a tree up this year. We are in the middle of selling out house and no reason to get it all out to have to put it back up. We will celebrate Christmas at my daughter's house this year. Maybe I'm not jealous.. haha I won't have to clean up for everyone to come over to our house. haha Have a great day!!!
Brenda, I love all the peppermint and red and white look to your tree! And your container is perfect for it. I bought a Christmas Tree Collar for our tree that was on a fantastic sale, BUT our tree was already up and decorated and I was informed we'll wait and use it next year. Some day we'll eventually get a smaller tree in place of our big one.
Love that you "contained" your tree this year, too! I especially like that the container is on a stand. So cute!!!
Your tree is just darling, Brenda! I hope you are enjoying the holiday season! xoxo, Andrea
It looks very festive and great in that red tub too.
Happy Christmas holidays ~ FlowerLady
That's cute, Brenda!
It's so cute!

Love the candy cane tree. Cute idea. I have some small trees, wonder if I could find some cute candy cane ornaments? Have you had your ornaments a while?
Thanks for the inspiration!
Love it.. Red and white are my favorite Christmas colors.. My tree is red/white too.
Of course , most of my house is decorated in red..ha
Love the red tub..
How Sweet!!!…lol…(sweet/the candies)…anyway it looks pretty and it is so Brenda!
Do you read the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum books? I just picked up #23 today. If you'd like it I can send it to you after my sister & I have read it.
I love the peppermint tree! Now you just need a little diffuser with some peppermint essential oil to use during the day (could keep you up at night) to go with the theme!
I love it, Brenda…so festive! And the beverage tub works so well!
I have a taste for a peppermint candy cane. Can understand why.?
Brenda that tree is so pretty! It has just the right amount of decorations. I also love seeing the labels on the items in your pantry, the checked curtains, and all of the colored glass outside. You have given yourself many pleasant spots to gaze upon! I've never had a themed tree, and maybe I will give it a try. It looks fun. Thanks for the inspiration.
This is so much fun, I really love that great tub you have your tree in! I like your one-a-day decorating plan, it makes sure you get it done!
I love it, Brenda! I love a color coordinated tree (which mine is NOT) and I think yours fits in perfectly in that spot.
It's so pretty, and the tub is wonderful!
(I picked up the woman in cabin 10 a few days ago. Hope to read it this week.)
I love it !!!
OK, that is the cutest Christmas tree! I love it. Putting in the beverage holder really added to the ambiance.
Your tree is fun with candy canes, Brenda. If Andrew comes over I bet he will love that. 🙂
I love it! You're inspiring me to get to decorating for Christmas! 🙂
Oh Brenda it is so pretty. I love the red and white. Love this.
Happy Friday and Happy Weekend.
Kris
Oh i love it. It is perfect.
Love the red and white decorations! Nothing speaks Christmas, to me, like red and white and stripes! I love the tub in red that holds the tree. Last year, we had a new kitten, and needed a stand for our artificial tree that would hold up to her climbing up the stem of the tree! We poked around in our garage, and came up with using our patio table umbrella stand made of (very) heavy cast iron. The hole where you would put the umbrella was perfect for the tree, and no more tipping over! Maybe I'll get my decorating mojo one of these days……
Your tree is so adorable! I just took down my fall decorations today, so hope to start on the Christmas things soon.Blessings, Carolyn
I love it, Brenda. Nothing says Christmas more than a red and white candy cane covered tree!
Ahhhhh soooooo cute!! Love it!! I like that you can also enjoy it from outside – my tree is the same, although our weather has definitely not been conducive for me to sit out on my deck!
Love your Candy Cane tree and its red container. I do several theme trees each year, but i feel myself slowing down as I grow older (77).I haven't even started this year so don't know how much I will get done. Your blog is one of my favorites.
that tree is the meaning of CHEERFUL! I love it.
I think you've got your Christmas mojo back! 😀 XO♥
That is a perfect tree for you. ?Now I need to the energy to put up mine.
I love your peppermint tree! I'm hoping to get a tree up this weekend.
It is so cute Brenda and I love the big tub! I just put up my tree but it needs decorations which I will do later. No theme for me, just my memories as I bring out ornaments from over the years! I think a nice cup of coffee and a cookie while I decorate will be fun!
