Many just need clever ideas for small homes. How best to utilize the space they have.
Here are images of small spaces that have been put to their best advantage.
Clever Conversation Area:
Creating a conversation area in your living space makes the room feel cozy. People are more attracted to the space.
The use of mirrors is always smart in a small space. Mirrors visually expand a room.
So if you don’t have a window in your kitchen, you might consider adding a mirror.
The chair above is made of transparent Lucite. Thus it take up no space visually. Lucite furniture works great in a small space. Less cluttered and more appealing.
Stand Alone Book Shelves In The Kitchen:
If you lack cabinet space in your kitchen, consider using a book shelf as storage for your kitchen. It takes up vertical space rather than the coveted horizontal space in your home.
If you don’t have a room for a dining table, the arrangement above could be your answer. A two legged table attached to the wall with a book shelf above it for storage.
Kitchen Banquettes Solve Small Space Dining Problems:
If you have an empty corner in your kitchen/dining space, consider turning it into banquette seating. It makes the most of a small area.
Many small homes don’t have an actual foyer or mud room. But you can create a space to store shoes and winter outerwear with bench seating and a locker to hang coats.
Here is another banquette style dining space that is more open than the previous one above.
Day Beds With Storage:
If you don’t have an extra bedroom to use as a guest room, you might consider adding a built-in bed for when guests visit. Below the bed is storage for files.
A day bed can serve as a seating area. And then used for guests when it’s needed. Since there is no room for a table lamp, a sconce on the wall used as lighting.

Great idea! I have a bunk bed for overnight guests. It's comfortable and doesn't take too much space.
Interesting post, Brenda.
I hope you are feeling much better. Still sending healing energy to you and Abi.
Also hoping you are getting some rest. Take care.
I love looking at small home ideas. Sometimes small homes are the most beautiful.
The first room seems a bit too busy, but the other photos are decorated with a light touch that really makes the areas seem roomy. Thanks for the nice photos!
Great post, Brenda – that dining table that folds up is a great idea for a small kitchen!
Love how clean and fresh and 'happy' the spaces look, with their pops of color in just the right places!
I especially love the daybed, such a great idea.
Pretty ideas. Enjoy your weekend, Brenda!

I love this post! I would never think to do some of these things, particularly the gold mirror over the stove, but it works. All of these spaces look very pretty and inviting, color, pattern and texture. I came away with some great ideas to think about. Hope you are feeling better today.
