A Spice Rack
I finally found a spice rack I liked on eBay. The cost of it was $15 with free shipping.
I had a hard time finding a place to hang it in my small kitchen. But since I don’t use the kitchen cabinets, I decided to hang it in front of the cabinet in the corner by the window.
I had plates hanging there previously.
The sugar and tea bag jars then went on the dough bowl.
In a small kitchen, organizing on trays or other surfaces helps maximize your space and reduces clutter.
I added the clear vintage jars I found at the antique mall to my group of vintage jars I already had displayed on the kitchen windowsill.
I like the way the light shines through the jars. It is pleasing to the eye.
Your spice rack is cute, Brenda. It has been quite a while since I have chimed in, but I have been keeping up with your blog 🙂 Thanks for doing what you do here on this blog.
And yes, I too am watching what is happening in Texas. So grateful that my mom is dry and safe where lives.
I've wondered what is going on with you. So nice to see you'd posted!
Texas breaks my heart. IT is hard to believe that Katrina was that long ago, I read recently that in some areas they are still trying to get their houses leveled from that storm.
I love your spice rack!
I have cried a few tears watching selfless people helping strangers for sure!
What a nice spice rack! I love a good bargain! Your cozy little house really is . . . just that.
Harvey really has caused so much damage and heartache, I pray that those in Texas will find peace and safety and comfort in the coming weeks and months. I can't even imagine what they are going through. God bless them.
So many people in shelters. And then some of those flood too. No telling when they'll be in a place they can call home.
Brenda, thank you for your kind words for Texas. I am in the Houston area, and by the grace of God, my house is dry. Words can not describe what is happening here, but you can get an idea from the pictures, just magnify it by about 100%. The people have been so great with the help they are so graciously giving the people that are affected by this tragedy. Please keep the great state of Texas in your thoughts and prayers….we need it!
I hope you're still safe!
The spice rack was a great find. And I love your vintage linen on the window.
I think the vintage linens in the window add a whimsical touch.
Yesterday was the six year anniversary of Hurricane Irene which devastated our area. Late August seems to be a bad time for storms, for sure.
And with climate change, we will see more.
kindness. it's still alive and well.
this country needed to see a dose of that simple fact.
and to know that it's still there in abundance. it brings tears to my eyes all through the day.
people seem to be at their best when things are the worst.
this storm has changed so many lives. perhaps forever.
We sure did need a dose of kindness in the US! I can't imagine the feeling of loss those folks have to be feeling.
Your spice rack looks nice with those curves, and holds a lot.
Best wishes to Texas. Let's hope they use this time to move some homes and facilities like that assisted living home out of flood zones.
I picked up a few more spices at the grocery yesterday, as I have more room to add them. I am seeing so many amazing rescues on TV!
Glad to see that you found the spice rack, they are so handy. I like the convenience of having the most often used choices at the ready. I also have one that I use to display a small collection of salt and pepper shakers.
As sad as the tragedy of the hurricane is, it is wonderful to see all the people comin forward to help.Having been in 2 hurricanes myself, I know what it means to have help and support of neighbors and various relief agencies.
That's an interesting display: salt and pepper shakers. I have seen some beautiful clear vintage ones I wouldn't mind collecting.
Nice spice rack. I keep mine in a little basket in the pantry. I love your window valance made from antique linens. I may have to copy that in my kitchen. Are your kitchen cabinets empty? Praying for Texas!
Yes, the cabinets are empty. Copy away!
Such a horrible storm. So much damage and loss of life. So far my Texas family seem to be doing OK. Heading to South Georgia today for the funeral tomorrow.
Be careful and stay safe.
We Americans really come together when needed.
Yes we do!
