  1. TV, my blanket, and drapes closed. Soup is always good too. When I don't feel well, i reel things in. I commented on another blog post you had about some severe, constant migraine issues that got real complicated for me in July. I'm sensitive to light, sound, smell, temperatures, etc (im a mess), so diet got real bland too. Im doing pretty good now with a controlled environment. "Take care" and "Be well" are comments my grandma always made. I get it now in my older years! LOL. SHe meant it literally 🙂

  2. Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich are always a soothing combination for me. I hope you get to feeling better soon! Carol

    1. My stomach won't tolerate tomato soup. But that is the exact combination one of my daughters wanted when she was young and sick.

  3. I usually hunker down under a throw in my recliner when I'm feeling bad. I seem to do better with my head propped up a bit. I've just been battling a chest inflammation and was in the recliner all night last night. Couldn't sleep as I couldn't breathe without a lot of pain. Much better tonight. Hope you are, too! Your first photo is my favorite…love the water ripples.

  4. Sounds like a lovely day to me. The photos are lovely, too. The one I like the best is of the drooping head of a plant I can't recognize. It looks like it could be one of those old crook-neck desk lamps from years gone by!

Hope today finds you feeling better and tomorrow even better. Take care.

  5. I hope you are feeling better Brenda. I'm so glad you had a relaxing day yesterday. A restful day like that can make a big difference when we are feeling bad.

These photos are so beautiful. I especially love the 4th one of the flower with it's head bowed. You captured the texture so well that I can almost feel it! You are an amazing photographer!

When I'm feeling bad I like to relax in the recliner with a blanket and a cat. I may have the TV on but I usually read or browse on my tablet. The cat is the most important thing as I'm sure you feel the same about your pupsters!

I hope you've had a healing weekend and can start the week out feeling much better!

  6. You take such good pictures, Brenda. Probably the ones you tossed are better than the "good ones" I take. lol I usually hunker down in my down-filled chair with my feet up on the hassock, have a soft throw over my lap, the computer on my lap and TV on to the news…lol…sometimes on to watch movies. xo Diana

  7. I don't know if I should admit this but when I feel sick I take a Xanex and head to bed with a good book to get my mind off feeling crappy. Reading helps me relax and I can fall asleep. My latest book is The Twelve-Mile Straight by Eleanor Henderson.

  8. Glad you had a restful day. I had to lay low after eye surgery. Couldn't see so my hubby found reruns of the Reba show I could listen to. Napped too.

  9. Proud your doing better, hope you continue to get better.
    The photos are beautiful.
When I am sick, I usually watch tv shows [not a big tv watcher, but watch shows from HGTV or Hallmark channels].

  10. When I don't feel well, I want to be left alone and snuggle on my bed with my little pug. She loves to snuggle also. I read a lot when things get too much for me. It's my escape. I love your pictures and totally enjoy your blog all the time. Sandra

  11. Hope you are feeling much better soon Brenda. I absolutely love the picture of the pink flower that is hanging its head, the color is just fabulous. It looks like fabric with sprinkles of silver.

  12. LOVE THE PICTURES, ESPECIALLY OF THE BLACK SWAN AND THE WATER.
WHEN I LIVED IN TULSA I SPENT A LOT OF TIME AT A FRIENDS HOUSE THAT HAD A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF SWAN LAKE. LOTS OF GOOD MEMORIES FOR SURE.
TAKE CARE AND GET WELL !
    SNUGGLES TO THE PUPSTERS.

  13. I am glad you are feeling a bit better. Our bedroom is really our sanctuary and I think we all have a favorite throw or blankie to cozy up in.

I came down with a bad case of vertigo yesterday, and spent the day in bed. It hit me suddenly and the entire room rocked and rolled and I could not stand up. Hopefully I will be better today, I need to grocery shop.

  14. Happy Sunday, Brenda. You have to promise me that you won't ever stop blogging. Your blog is pretty much the only one I read, because it's like comfort food. Simple and like a cup of coffee with a good friend. I have searched and searched for other blogs like yours and there aren't any. I know that people are trying to make money with their blogs, as I hope to as well, but I don't feel like that's your only concern when I come to visit. Thank you for sharing and being a bright real and refreshing spot in my day.

    1. Well, I have to make money. But I do love the community and conversation with you all. I don't foresee me stopping blogging for quite some time.

  15. Pretty photos of the water! I already miss leaves on our trees. When I'm sick, it usually involves a headache, so no computers or reading for me. I park myself on the sofa and watch old movies. I hope you're feeling better soon!

  16. I love to curl up in my bed with a cozy blanket and binge watch TV or read. Sweet Annie Belle curls up with me and gives me more comfort. Sounds like you had a good and healing day.

  17. When I am feeling down and under the weather, I curl up in bed with my favorite blanket, a good book, and if it is not a tummy problem, a piece of dark chocolate. Chicken Noodle Soup with a lot of pepper is a favorite meal when I have a cold.

The photos are so pretty. I know you enjoyed reviewing them and I enjoy viewing your favorites.

Hope you are feeling much better.

  18. Just read my post and realize that when I'm sick I just want to eat things that I don't want when I'm well. That's kind of strange.

  19. I really like the photos that have water in them. There's a sparkling quality that makes it seem like I'm actually seeing the water moving. Good job!

I hope you are feeling better. If I'm sick, I try to just go to sleep. If I watch TV or read, I fall asleep anyway. When my husband or I get sick, the other one goes out and gets some hot and sour soup from a Chinese restaurant. I don't usually like hotly spiced food, but this soup seems to really warm me up when I don't feel well. And I like a hot toddy made from Lipton tea, honey, lemon, and a bit of bourbon. Not really crazy about bourbon, which is a shame to admit here in Kentucky. But it makes a good medicine!

    1. I absolutely love hot and sour soup from my favorite Chinese place! I think I could eat it every day. I can't sleep during the day.
