  1. Oh Brenda, it's no fun being sick. And it seems to take much longer to get over this stuff that's going around. Rest, read, recover. Please don't feel guilty. Your body deserves the occasional break. (I had to laugh about Charley with the chew bone. My dogs give me cause to smile every day.)

  2. Hi Brenda! I haven't checked in with you in a while and wanted to wish you and the pupsters a Merry Christmas. I was sorry to hear you're not up to snuff and hope you feel better soon. Maybe your nasty weather is nature's way of asking you to rest and recuperate. Take care. Hugs, Pat

  3. I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. My husband has started with the sniffles, and nasal congestion. I've become OCD with hand washing trying to avoid catching what he has, to the point where my hands are starting to get crispy. As I write this I am running the vaporizer. It really helps my sinuses and dry mouth and eyes that I get this time of year. I find that Vicks on my chest when I have a cold helps me. I always stock up on a couple of jars of it before winter hits. Once the flu is here, it seems to sell out.

The high here today was twelve degrees, expected down to 4 degrees tonight. There were enough snow flurries today to leave surfaces that are too slick for me and my dorky knees to be able to safely walk on.

Today I even had to keep the picture window curtains closed to keep some of the heat in. I'm starting to get cabin fever, and it's only been a couple of days of this weather. Here, near St Louis, the past couple of winters were real mild. It was great. Not this one though. We are off to a roaring start.

I hope you will start feeling better soon. I always think of the saying, "This too shall pass", I then think, "but isn't there some way to just hurry things along already." Patience is often not one of my strong points.

    Take care.

  6. Yes my sister swears the alka Selzer helps her colds and stuffy nose.
Talking about your bird bath water, I finally bought a heat element for my bird bath so they can have water, its been wonderful

Hope you feel better soon, have you tried a hot tottie? hot tea, whiskey , teaspoon sugar lemon

    1. Yes, I swear by a hot tottie…..hubby and I went to package store and got those little bottles of whiskey with honey………we have the flu…..no head stuffiness but chest congestion. Even had flu shots….. It has helped but keeps us up at night. Have to take it earlier in the day……..cause rest helps us. Propped up anyway…….Merry Christmas and Happy New Year…gloria g. in Wellborn, FL

  7. I'm so sorry you are still sick Brenda. Didn't you say you have asthma? You have to be careful as that can get out of hand quickly. Do you have an inhaler or any medication for it?

Enjoy Abi and Charlie and your great collection of books. I've enjoyed your reviews!

    Healing hugs!
