I now have Christmas finished in my bedroom. Of course the dogs are in attendance and so are their chew toys. (I made the cat quilts, but not the one above the bed.)
Vintage suitcases are great for creating a seasonal vignette in. Add some tulle and decorate. Someone asked: Yes, I made that quilt above it.
This is the wall opposite the bed. I put a quilt on the wall (no, I didn’t make that one). But it looked way too bland. I had this mirror I’d purchased last summer on clearance. But the red was not deep enough. Out came the spray paint. And Judy tied the burlap bow and called it done.
Something else courtesy of Judy is this bird house wall hanging. She found it while visiting her sister. It sat in my closet for months. It was a light yellow and just did not go right with the khaki walls.
Judy spray painted it last week. And it looks ten times better. She left the little bird and green roof as is. Now it screams Christmas.
Remember I told you I needed the red, white and blue lamp some place else. So here is where it landed. With a silver garland of stars. Be careful not to let the garland touch the bulb.
This is the wall on the other side of the window from my bed. Yes, I made this teensy tiny quilt years ago. And these muslin and red stockings as well.
So even though I’m not putting up a big tree and getting out the boxes of ornaments, I am decorating strategically in each room. And it will be so much easier to put up after the holidays!
{Note: The winner of Judy’s red and white pillow is Shabby Brocante, who has already been notified.}
